How many appeals left for this killer? He is using them up. He is on death row isn't he? Time will run out and the state will put a needle into his arm. He will not get back on the street.

O.K. Sad but true; let him out and he will kill again. Look at the Van Sloot kid. How many rapists and murderers are released and not rehabilitated? How many convicts go back out and rape and kill someone's kid? You would not be so liberal if it happens to one of your loved ones. Justice is justice. We are never concerned about the victim or the victim's family.
Justice should be swift, not have tax payer money supporting someone in jail for 20-30 or more years. People change in that many years, you are punishing an old man and not the stupid young person who committed the crime of murder in the first place.
If we need jail space that bad, than legalize lesser crimes such as marijuana possession convictions so we can keep killers locked up in states that do not allow capital punishment.
This was not Copenhefer's first murder. In 1970 he murdered John Calkins in Dayton, OH, and he got away with it, only to kill again. There is such a thing as pure evil, and this man is it. John Calkins and his fiancee were my friends.

Murder is murder know matter how you look at it...if you look at the definition of murder, it simply states....."the taking of another human's life".......so whomever flips that switch, puts that needle in the arm, or is a member of the firing squad, is just as much a murderer as is the person they are murdering......

Go the economical route & hang him. That way you can use the rope again. In fact with the stupidity of the general public & the fascination with reality tv, show it on a major network & have people vote American idolesque. We can make a few bucks on commercials & all the dopes that will text their votes. It will be a win-win-win, get rid of a low-life murderer, make some cash & provide entertainment to the masses.

How about stuffing him in a womb and then aborting him. Would that make your liberal heart happy?

They used to hang people right between the wings of the court house down town Erie.
It's long been my view that public floggings ought to be brought back.
If after that, they still repeat the behavior...hang 'em.
Cheap. Simple. Effective.

We can start with bleeding heart Liberals who have distorted our legal
system so they can feel good about themselves and their "good deeds to others"
because, after all, to them it's not about the fact a crime has been
committed and that there is victim (and family)who needs justice...
it's about the fact that Johnny can't read and was let down by Society.

Ever heard of “an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth”? This saying comes from God himself as recorded in the Old Testament. It was given as a means of proper balance in punishment for crimes committed among the Israelite people.
In this case this man took more than just one life, he took the lives of the loved ones who were close to this woman. He has many brutal deaths to come.

And if you look away from the biblical attribute, think about this… on the average it costs $40,000 a year to keep a prisoner locked up. That’s more than what most people make, and twice as much as some! And you, as a tax payer, are stating that you are ok with this? We feed, clothe and shelter these animals, we reward them for doing wrong! Yeah, they have been stripped of their freedom, but that’s it! They should have food and water taken from them and be thrown into a hungry lions den, if one were to ever get out and think that they have escaped, then release the hounds!

He is on death row because he is guilty as sin and all he is doin is wasting our tax dollars and yes i agree once a killer always a killer the same with a rapist. and I will tell you why 1998 I was beaten and raped by a man who had just got done serving 18 years for rape and assult people like this do not change and they never will. No one has the right to kill, rape, hit, rob or commit a crime against anyone if people could just be honest and respectful this world would be a better place. but know there's people out there who think there better than everyone else. We all but our pants on the same way one leg at a time so we are all the same.

All you people need to STFU! The Strong Poet will take his case for 33 1/3 percent and keep the scum bag alive. All at taxpayer expense of course. Reality is... if Mr. Poet did take his case, the sh!tbag would have long been executed.

I watched this case on Forensic Files Latin America, and it said he was sentenced to life in prison. Afterwards, I looked it up and saw it was a death sentence instead.

Man Sentenced to Die Taken Off Death Row

A man sentenced to die for the murder of a local child, has now been taken off death row. 23 years ago, Alan Lee Pursell was convicted for the murder of 13 year old Christopher Brine. Brine was found dead in 1981, in the woods near the water street rail road bridge in Lawrence Park. Pursell was scheduled to die 2 years ago, but the death penalty was reversed by a federal judge, because
of mistakes* made during the sentencing hearing. To keep Pursell from getting a new trial, the DA's office and Pursell's lawyers negotiated and gave Pursell life in prison with no chance of parole.
