Alejo is the pinnacle of self serving, corrupt politicians who use their "power" for personal gain, period. It only takes a quick glance at his record and actions to see him for exactly what he is.
District 2 people voted for him and he bailed on them right away. Now he wants to appoint someone so they owe him.
Yes, alejo bailed out on his own constituents and now feels he needs to protect them from 'what was it?' I guess if alejo prevails then we'll have to rewrite all the dictionaries to correctly explain the meaning of 'vacant' and 'vacancy' as he sees it. All this because of a little napoleon who forces his agendas on others. He used his own people in Dist. 2 to climb the ladder of success(?). This is a cheap game by him to gain even more control over the council and the city. The word is 'vacant' and he does NOT understand it? I thought he was educated.

Interesting. He was supposedly "helping" the defrauded borrowers. so you are saying he set them up to extort money from the brokers who helped them get loans so he could get his cut all the while knowing that they had not been defrauded, or were more guilty than the brokers he shook down? And you are one of these Broke Brokers you are describing since that is your chosen name? MARTINEZ himself admitted to getting brokers on technicalities...so now you explain that he did that with Plaintiffs who were corrupt...what does that say about this guy???
Well what else could alejo supporters do but construe some nasty and false accusations against Martinez. If Martinez were guilty of half the accusations, he would be incarcerated by now. Use your heads, I would say brains but doubt there is much gray matter in that area. Martinez is not fooled by alejo and his threats or his little soldiers who run around doing alejo's dirty work. The little man has an ego beyond compare and if he deems something should go his way, he'll play with words and laws to get his own way. Good for Martinez who stands as a watchdog for us all. If not for him, we wouldn't know what was going on behind alejo's smoke screen.

Oh and take note, alejo is having a send off party at Jalisco's on the 30th and then he'll have other parties in Sacramento following. Gosh! The guy must have some big bucks to be able to spend so carelessly. But remember, he gave the Romo's a $400,000 loan after he had received donations from her for his campaign and you have to pay back sometime. All this is paid out of the taxpayers' pockets. Are we smiling yet?

COMMON.. Wow.. And the 30th is when Alejo is supposed to swear in the new councilmen/women? Hummm.. maybe we could go and filibuster (give a long speech). Oh yea, I forgot, Alejo has a buzzer and also has the button to turn the mic off. Now that is CONTROL. Him turning the mic off on Martinelli was a big mistake.

What did the Romo's need the money for again?

BINGO.. you nailed it.
Righto! Did Donna write this piece? It smells of her doing.
A council seat isn't vacant until the council member leaves.
This is common sense. I sure hope Rios doesn't get in. I saw the video about Mexico taking over California with love. I really dislike this guy!
The city should send Alamejo a bill for the plaza name change title search and he should have to pay for this expensive out of town attorney he has hired. What was wrong with our present city attorney?

people saying the same curious teabagger talk. I feel sorry for you people you seem deluded and conspiratorial. Guess what...you are probably wrong on this one but I'm sure if you lose it will be someone else's fault...with martinez it is always someone else's fault. Someone else made him call his former employer and threaten to kill him. Someone else pressed his fingers to the dial..yeah that's the ticket...

Almost missed your accurate post.
Not a fan is probably someone like Bersi or the BB fan club of Alejo.
Mr. Martinez stood up to the little weasel and his other ilk. Good for him. Hope that the courts will see what Alejo is doing. He is running Watsonville BROKE. The attorney's HE hired and yes it was HIM are very expensive. The city doesn't have the money to pay them. Then Alejo spent 10,000.00 approx to rename the plaza when he said PUBLICALLY that it would not cost the city a cent. And then let's look at all the MAYOR PROCLAMATIONS he issued to help his campaign. 74 since January at a cost of approx 300.00 each. That isn't chicken feed. Alejo has been involved with suing the school district costing again $$$. If he can't even manage his money enough to keep his house, how can he manage a city. Want more. I am the most UNFAN of Alejo's there probably is.
Curious to see Adelman using his fake name, Corralitosres. What a coward that he cannot put his real name in this as he did with his sham lawsuit. Hey Adelman, get a life and get one for your puppet, Martinez, as well. You both are losers, just like your lawsuit.

Martinez conducted investigations for people who claimed they were defrauded by some mortgage brokers. The investigations, which takes some time, revealed that most people claiming to be victims of fraud were committing fraud themselves because they falsified their incomes on their loan applications..that is fraud. What most people don't know is that over 95% of people who have filed for foreclosure in Watsonville are Latino, and that they were taken advantage of by mostly Latino "mortgage brokers" to obtain loans they could never afford. All you have to do is look at the list of names of people who filed for foreclosure in Watsonville (including Alejo) and almost all have Latino surnames. All you have to do is go and ask these Latinos who lost their homes to foreclosure who helped them get their loan and almost all will tell you it was a Latino and most of the time it was an unlicensed Latino "mortgage broker". Seems like you are one of those mortgage brokers?
So, MARTINEZ turned it into a cottage industry for himself- shaking down the brokers but not doing anything to stop the harm to the system or to the lenders. He's as guilty as the people he extorted money from. He should be made to disclose the earnings from this shakedown activity.

And the psycho phone call he did with gay and racist slurs- more of the same. This guy needs to be OUT OF OFFICE and soon before he does more harm to the people and the businesses of Watsonville.

This poster is obviously either Alejo or a member of his campaign team. The same "pawn for conservatives" phrase was used against Alejo's opponent Janet Barnes in the Democratic primary, with Barnes being a lifelong Democrat, solid liberal, and more of a man than Alejo...as far as that goes. And the "latino uncle tom" remark reminds me of Alejo at a campaign rally for an Anglo he supported against a Latino opponent. When the Anglo's campaign manager smeared the Latino opponent as a "Tio Taco" Luis just stood there with that famous smirk on his face. Alejo is a lapdog and pawn for the elitist progressives.

apparently Donna wrote this article. Some posts have been removed.
The tactic that the BB and Alejo's ilk use is to make sure they get dirty words out about their opponent at the very last minute so that will be what sticks with voters. Won't work.
Martinez, I wish you well today. What you are doing is not about ALEJO but about the people of Watsonville. Alejo and even back as far as Rios has tried to run Watsonville and take it from the people, just like Rios did with the union taking so many jobs away from the people.

You might want to ask alejo and farhat about their deal on the short sale of alejo's house on Crespi. Talk about criminal dealings. If Martinez did all that junk that you are repeating, don't you think the State Realty Board would have hit him by now with criminal practice? Looks like alejo and farhat are far sneakier than Martinez!

So Rivas is demanding that Martinez repay the city for the cost of the high priced attorneys from the big city! What does that man have for brains? Why did he not demand that alejo repay the city for his plaza fiasco? That cost was more than $4800+ and the city paid it for their little napoleon. The city did not have to accept the suit. They could have asked for a vote by the council if they wanted to accept the ruling of any council member naming their own successor. alejo apparently did not want that becasue it was too easy and wouldn't give him any free publicity and he is the one who chose the attorneys. By the way, the big attorneys did contribute to his campaign in an indirect manner. See! Already favors are being paid back with ufw, huerta, cda, diaz, and romo. He's leaving us with a lot of big debts. So where is rivas in this scenario?

And now Alejo uses his last opportunity to crap in the face of Watsonville by filling his position of mayor with unionista Daniel Dodge, and filling his District 2 seat with Salvadoran Marxist Oscar Rios. Please pass the TP.
