Sep 27, 2013 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: Santa Cruz Sentinel

Surfboards, backpacks and bicycles didn't get anymore secure in 2012 for Santa Cruz residents and visitors, with the city's already high property crime rate rising even further, according to the latest FBI annual crime reports.

And of course we have BJ FATslob claiming that there's NO CONNECTION between the influx of Bums she pretends to care about, and the increase in property crime.

HEY BJ, HOW DO YOU THINK JUNKIES AND TWEEKERS SUPPORT THEIR DRUG HABIT???????

DBS is such a simpleton.

Becky did a great job analyzing the info, and no one else provided an even remotely lucid comment on the article.....she said.....

"FBI statistics show that both violent crime rates AND property crimes in the City of Santa Cruz have GONE UP since 2006 AND since last year. Note also, police say that 10% of "calls" for service were generated by their own predictive policing software, not any live person making a call. Also, the percent of calls that actually were generated by a 911 call placed to the SCPD is 31%. See: http://www.sccecc.org/
Looks like the influence of Take Back Santa Cruz & their hyper-focus on homeless people has not made our City any safer. In fact, the data show quite the opposite."

More from Becky Johnson.....

"According to the City's own reporting using SCPD data, 42% of arrests are of homeless people & 32% of the citations issued are to homeless people. However, only 1 category--theft-- has anything to do with FBI crime statistics which are of more serious crimes. According to the City, most crimes committed by homeless people are theft, camping, sleeping, begging, being in a park after hours, having an open container, drunk in public, conduct on public property which could be sitting on a bench wrong, or arrested for a probation violation which could be as benign as failing to report their new address when they don't have one. No. The data DO NOT SHOW that homeless people commit the major crimes in our City. TBSC is barking up the wrong tree."

More from Becky Johnson....

"Murder IS a major crime. However, the City's homelessness study panel did not find murder to be a major crime regularly committed by homeless people. Their own data suggest that homeless people, who only represent 1.5% of our population receive 32% of the citations & account for 42% of arrests. This despite the fact that MOST of the "crimes" they commit are not really even crimes: sitting down, sleeping at night, camping, begging, being in a park after hours, smoking a cigarette, or drinking a beer. They are simply selectively enforced against for behaviors most housed people do indoors. This is what the data show. However, the prejudice against homeless people is so great and the laws are written to specifically target homeless people (e.g. the smoking ban on Pacific Ave or no begging with a dog) that the impression remains that homeless people tend to be criminals. The truly criminal class in town are the bankers."

Apparently DBS was not able to craft a lucid response to her comments.

I'm kind of thankful for those "bums" as you call them: they scared you out of Santa Cruz to Aptos, and our community is that much safer with you out of it, DBS.

Now go take back Aptos, you petrified loon.

Or should I say "PETRAfried"?

I'm sure the crime rate will uptick since your eviction. John Colby will certainly steal before he will work for his necessaries.
How is that "big win" working for you, John? Your ex-neighbors are still dancing for joy!
