White people in this town always need a boogieman of sorts to "rally the troops" and keep other naive white people on their toes.
The Brown Berets are a youth group. They are not armed. They are not criminals. They are not boogiemen. They are YOUTH who many times don't even get involved in local electoral campaigns.
You white people are right about one thing, though, they are DANGEROUS. And they represent the future of this town.
Run for the hills!
Thanks for the post, Councilman Bersamin. I assume that's you, anyway, since that's the same "Changes are coming for Watsonvile, so get used to it" spiel you often give at council meetings.

"Laskin confirmed she met with Norton, but said she acted as a "private citizen" not as a union official when she suggested Norton end a campaign that in her political judgment isn't viable."

Yes, and if you believe that, the teacher's union has a bridge in San Francisco they would like to sell you.

Once upon a time school board positions were non-partisan, and in the classroom, teachers refused to tell their students of their respective politics and voting inclinations. Now many teachers advocate a particular point of view. A politicized school system is like having your kid study with the the worse student in class.
