A 54 yr old selling his methadone, is this and all the other stories of crimes and death enough. Methadone is not this wonder drug that the people who support it paint. The pro-methadone advocates who are the drug companies, owners of these clinics, medical professionals and the users themselves have done nothing more then create another lethal drug that has flooded our market. Methadone is currently #1 killer of a prescription narcotic in this country and nothing is being done to stop this poison. This drug is being diverted faster then they can prescibe it but the supporters swear it does not get you high. This drug needs to be removed from the market or kept under lock and key. Brug companies and many others are making million and it is obvious they do not care about the thousands that are dying yearly. Many are dying while under a doctors care and monitoring. These deaths come from clinics, pain management and from diversion of both sources. This has to stop, NOW.

My guess is that if we took the drug war money and spent it on healthcare for our population, then the Jepkes of the world, not to mention the rest of us working class stiffs, would have a safe place to go to when our aches and pains, both physical and mental, got too much to bare. This most recent bust was between two consensual adults in an industrial, not residential, area. It involved the exchange of a substance, methadone, which is legally available if you have enuf bucks to pay the entry fee (doctor) and over-priced product fee (pharmacy, aka apothecary). We are no safer because these two were taken off the streets for a few hours, as was the paid officer, yet we know this scenario continues to repeat itself regularly, with little to no return on our tax dollar. Invest in the drug war? Invest in healthcare? You do the math!

You probably picked him up and went to your stop sign to spear change everybody that came by so you could buy more drugs for a higher class source.
You do dirtbag activities you get dirty. Take the heat.
He Dog let me tell you something, I was there
to pick-up Clyde . Clyde is not homeless and does
not panhandle.. You probably could not even
indentify him. So stop making up stories.
The truth is, he made a mistake and you know what-
he is extremely sorry about this..

This is a joke, right?.... the grammar cop misspelling grammar and ommitting a necessary comma.....CLASSIC!
Regarding the story, this cop is LAME. He is no hero... just leave them be. More of our tax dollars wasted on prosecuting these victimless crimes. Santa Cruz cops are too chicken sh-i-t to do something that might actually protect citizens, oh....say, like fighting the ubiquitous gang presence in this county? But that might involve some dangerous stuff so lets just bust these petty drug crimes. Lame.
You are absolutely right..They are afraid to go
after the REAL bad guys. In my opinion cops
in Santa Cruz must first" walk "their beats in
the Bronx or Harlem before they can work here.

Many times the scenerio is much worse for police officers. Glad to hear he wasn't hurt more than the skinned knees. Two thumbs up to the cop doing his job!
The truth is the officer used exessive force
and hurt himself in the process.. The suspect DID NOT
struggle at all. Unfortunately the officer
hurt himself due to his own uncontrolled

Sure, I don't care if they're in front of my house doing drug deals. I don't know about you guys but I'm sure not going to rely on the police force to protect me. Now that's just silly.

I know that Jepkes kid from Connecticut and frankly he is a "no gooder". He sold dope and stolen goods. He is in Connecticut prison now in 2012. A real winner!

I have known Clyde for 16 years... Infact I have a child with him. He is now and has been in and out of jail for as long as I have known him for drugs, assault, burglary, larceny. He will never change. Infact, he is incarcerated right now!
The world is a better place with Losers like Clyde off our streets...
