There is 33 prison in the state of California, each has an estimated $1 Million annual budget. Sorry Henry, I think that money should be spent elsewhere.

Are you serious? Why don't you just admit that you're RACIST. I am a hard-working Mexican American, a teacher and working on my post-graduate degree. Oh, and I'm not a gang member. The problem is not Mexicans. Gangs exist within every race, to simply believe that one race is responsible for all of the violence is racist. Ignorant people like you are the problem.
I'm a hard working teacher and I work in Watsonville. I've worked in different schools in this county, and I've only received gang training whilst working in Watsonville. Maestra, get out of your ivory tower and accept the fact. The gangs are Mexican! Do you need to go to a training?
If I can stop one kid from joining a gang, I'm happy. Sorry to shatter your illusion, but Mexican gangs are the problem here!!! hello!

if more parents took the time to spend with thier kids enroll them in some sort of activity(my daughter plays fast pitch softball) and she is on other sports during the school year witch i attend the games also..find the kids stuff to do spend the extra time with them alth moving isnt always affordable its still a option, i was living on the streets of santa cruz for many yrs i now have a 12 yr old daughter i think back on how my life got so messed up and try and do things diffrently for her so she can have a good life we also talk alot about stuff talking and noticing is so important, im a nosy parent i go on her my space and ask alot of questions for now shes a good girl, but i still will allways rember 12 is the age i started using so i notice ALL changes also talk to teachers find stuff out its not always easy but i want my child to grow up diffrent..by the way she is a a&b student, i couldnt be more proud!

So it is society that is now responsible for the losers in gangs? The Mexicans need to start to stop making excuses and step up and be parents with backbone. We would not hear this crap if it was KKK. There wouldn't be the excuse that society just needs to do more for the criminals or that blacks should just be nicer to the KKK members to quell their hate. No. There would be a no tolerance attitude as their should be.

Gang members are terrorist and chase out the good kids. Stop pandering to a hate group so that cultures are not divided even more.

Around here the gang problem is from people from south of the border - ITS NOT A WHITE PROBLEM AND YOU KNOW IT.

You are the racist here for implying that white people are as criminal as Mexicans when they are not.

Crime stats show the Latinos form gangs, commit crimes at multiples of the rate of whites. How dare you push your "white people do it too" lies when the paper has rapes, stabbing and shootings by Latinos on almost a daily basis in OUR community. You want to stand up for men who rape women because you both come from south of the border? If so, you are a fool and not part of OUR community. So stay seperate in your own world and keep your gangbangers in your own neighborhoods.

If you are working on your post-grad degree, then you are a leader of your community. Get off your blame the gringo game that so almost all Mexican leaders play and fix the problems in your community instead of enabling it. That would take courage, initiative and independent thinking - maybe a trait too gringo for you?

Think before you call others racist and look in the mirror first. It is you and your fellow followers of ethnic identity politics that are racist.

Dude, what was your job at those places? Janitor. You can't spell, your grammar is terrible, and "internets"? OMG. Then the religion comes in. "Prodigal son"? Are you freaking serious? Its their religion that tells them not to use birth control and have twenty kids they can't afford and can't manage. Its their religion that is helping create the gang problems. Wise up dude.
Did you even read the post. It had substance. Even if you do not have biblical beliefs, those examples he gave have been shown multiple times in real life situations. Like the post says, you can either just complain all the time on these comments, or you can get off your butt and do something productive to help. I don't know you or your life Tiki guy, but from the posts you leave (full of sarcasim and bitterness) I can only believe that the constant negative comments come from not helping others. It is a sign of selfishness. I could be totaly wrong about you and will accept that error, but if I am right, try helping someone else, better yet, try helping someone you don't like and have to really get out of your commfort zone to do it.

oh yes, marijuana leads to gang involvement.
P.S. Marijuana is not addictive and millions of people use it daily without committing any violent acts or committing any crimes.
It's not??? And remember the two that robbed the pot dealer recently? In Aptos? Stun gun and Gun? "victim/dealer" tried to report he was robbed for cash..... Violent crime. Happens a lot more that you think because most dealers know they are criminals and wont report it to the Police

OK, so you are saying it is up to people like me to raise other peoples kids? The kids of parents that didn't have the time, but did have the sex drive, to make? give me a break, stop putting the blame on responsible people.

This crime happened specifically because marijuana is illegal. Point is, if marijuana were legal it would reduce violent crime.
Spin it how you want, and bury your head in the sand.
the crime happened because it was an oppertunity! there were two with weapons against 1. They did it because it was easy and didnt think the terd would call the police.
Spin it how you want to. It was a violent crime over a drug. It would have been ok if it was meth? That happens all the time so bury your head in the sand. Mall rats are always getting beat downtown for their dope.

So when people stop blogging about a problem it goes away? Or maybe you want us to raise your children because you suck at it.
