Locatelli ?!?!? Aren't they the notorious murder/kidnapping family from the Goonies? Someone better wake-up one eyed Willie!

Not even very close...Goonie villains were the Fratelli family. I volunteer with Gina Locatelli at the fair, and know her to be a tireless and dedicated worker for the community. In fact, the whole Locatelli family are solid people. I think son Justice Locatelli is still in high school, and is a regular competitor and ribbon winner at the fair in a wide variety of competitions, ranging from produce to poetry.

Great...we need people who want to make a difference. My only question is...has her own son attended public school at any point. We don't need another person on the board who has never been a proponent for public schools...just sayin'
What representation

COE board members are supposed to provide two way representation for their trustee area, in this case, PVUSD. How does an individual whose child was in private school and now in an SCCS charter represent the unique needs of the 19,000 students of the Pajaro Valley?

The COE has enormous challenges in the South County; they need trustees well versed in their strengths, needs and challenges.

Do we need trustees who donate large sums to the NRA and enroll their kids in
private and charter schools?

Another good point about representation in education...
What is really going on here?

So you trash Gina Locatelli for allegedly donating to the NRA? What a single-issue dimwit you are. Locatelli has also donated her entire adult life to voulnteering her services to the community, but toss all that out over a single political issue that has absolutely nothing to do with serving as a trustee. The fact that "Mrs. Ed Wise" agrees with your partisan rant only confirms my suspicion that you're just another shiel for the teachers union, since Mrs. Ed Wise (probably aka Sandra or Peter Nichols, Luis Alejo, etc.) had a simlar post trashing PVUSD candidate (and non teacher union shiel) Leslie DeRose in another thread. Get the union off the school boards, and the foxes out of the hen house.

Maybe an elective course on gun safety would be a good idea for the high schools?

What is all this teacher bashing about? I thought these elected boards were non-partisan?
These hateful comments and disrespect for teachers are just not not gioing to help the schools at all. Those people working in schools should be honored, rather than trashed.
Three issues

So you completely miss the greater issues pointed out by "Representation": That this candidate appears to have little or no experience with PV public schools. From private school to an SCCS charter does not provide the depth and breadth necessary to represent or to report back to the thousands of constituents in the PVUSD. Looks like the NRA note was a toss away -- but you sure jumped on it. Sensitive much?

And if you're concerned about partisan politics on the COE board, its not coming from the left or the unions.

After reading this article, it seems like Locatelli doesn't have any real connection with the public education system or its students.

Hmmm.... knew of the kid Justice at MVCS. Quite a rep as a bully. Never heard of any "learning" disabilities.
What's the whole story about pulling the kid out and what is her real practical experience with public education. Doesn't seem like much from the article...

The conservatives in the county are seeking seats on every board & council. Locatelli is the Kevin Moon of the COE race: a plant with no experience or connection to the real duty of the office.

Vote for the candidate invested in public education.
