Though I'm new to the community I hear incredible "garbage" about the schools, but when I examine the factual data I can't see what's so terrible. Yes, certainly it has problems. What can I do to help?
In these comments someone made mention of the money spent per student and that correlates with everything else I've seen on our school spending. Sure, make some more cuts. Every day I thank the Lord for Mississippi. She's the only state that consistently comes out spending fewer dollars than we do.(Of course it doesn't cost near so much for a home there). What efficiencies will you introduce to "cut the bloat"? The numbers just don't match up...highest class sizes, fewer administrators per student than the other states, less "frills"--like the arts.
Go for it. Advertise higher class sizes, fewer classes, no administrators, no arts, poor facilities--why not use tents; the weather's cooperative most of the time?
Name one past superintendent who has been well received in Pajaro. Though I'm new to the community from the Silicon Valley I've read some of this trash for many years.
Hey, I moved here because I actually like the community. Funny, how you see and read just the opposite in Saratoga, Los Gatos, Hillsboro, Palo Alto, and they support the schools with Foundations, bonds and parcel taxes, AND their property is valuable--could there be a correlation here? Support schools and we are supporting our community and ourselves. Bash, bash, bash and we convince people to "stay away".
Thank you and welcome to our community. Connect with your schools, PTA, foundation, school board and you'll find like minded people who roll up their sleeves and support strong community schools.

Incompetence, complete lack of leadership, financial mismanagement, deplorable test results, complete lack of discipline in local schools, drug problems in schools, violence in schools, promoting an idiot like Murray Shekman, cronyism, lack of creativity, etc.
Give me some time and I am sure I can come up with more reasons but please share with the rest of us what grounds you see for keeping Dorma Baker?
Good points-
