Hilarious editorial today, saying that adding Oscar Rios to the council was part of bringing "New Leadership to Watsonville"...LOL!
Rios was on the council 14 years, stepped aside to let Alejo have the seat long enough to run for assembly, and now Alejo has put him back in. Rios is just warmed over politics, like Jerry Brown in a Che Guevara t-shirt. And after Dodge lost to Rios' in his first run in the early 1990's, he joined the Rios team and has been appointed to commissions by them just to keep him in the game.
The main message from all that is the need to restore the system of having a mayor elected by the people, not three fellow council cronies. The time has never been better for a successful petition drive now that the corrupt clique running the current system has been exposed.
I'm with you all the way!

Getting term limits on the ballot is most important. Two terms for no more than two years
(ever) would be good.
I'm all for that one.

The way things happen on the council are determined by the elections, just ask any teabagger. But Neighbors election as vice mayor pops Emilio's attempt at making race a wedge to split this council.
Neighbors only proved himself to be a lying traitor, selling his soul and stabbing Bilicich in the back for the sake of being vice mayor. What a dweeb. All he had to do was look and see what good being vice mayor did Bilicich. Unless Bill changes his last name to Neberez, he'll be tossed aside by the council majority after they're done using their useful idiot as a token symbol of diversity.

Thank you little emperor, you may be right about the 1988 lawsuit but there are lots of other ways to constantly "dog" the current city council. How about repealing the Sanctuary City status, that's a lawsuit that can DEFINITELY be won. I like the term limits mentioned here also. And what about the YouTube videos made by Rios & Dodge? Kinda shows a bias to many of us. Don't worry, there's lots more and we aren't afraid to use our voices anymore. Wait and see.
Also, cut their tax income by shopping at cities other than Watsonville.

I tried registering a new account (just to see if I could) and it won't take any User name I come up with - even used my REAL NAME. No luck, so forget it.

What new corralitos?

I Was There is now known as mecep95076.

No personal info -except your email- is required. I have given my email when reporting abuse in earlier days so it's no big deal.

The hard part is coming up with a user name using the right combination of letters and numbers. Or one that isn't already in use.

Morning. Sorry I am late. Been busy with things. We can still comment here.
I have been doing some reading on Alejo and his BB. If you read this article it is De Ja Vu.. The BB start in a Mayors office in Los Angeles. It started with the Advisory Youth Counsel.
Now Dodge wants to start a youth counsel. But the BB are already here. But like Watsonville, the BB had/has a coffee shop for youths to come. Yes, Watsonville's bb had a coffee shop very close to the high school. http://www.heralddeparis.com/interview-prime-... or this http://nationalbrownberets.com/OurStance.html or this one is rather frightening at the power they are taking and remember Alejo started the one in Watsonville, Bersamin is a member and so is Dodge.

Just keep posting. There are new topics here, so in my opinion, let the SCS have their opinions.

Uh, what 'job?' The guy is unemployed. And this is the man who is going to lead the fight to get more jobs for people when he cannot find one for himself? Doesn't make good sense.

If you go back and look at the posts by Mr. Martinez his friends and relatives you will find a disturbing pattern of delusion shared by Mr. Martinez himself. The level of denial and projection of anger (couched in racism) shown by Mr. Martinez and his family over losing in a court of law does not reflect well on Mr. Martinez. He has shown an alarming lack of class and judgment for an elected official. If you want to succeed in politics you have to know how to win as well as lose. I'm afraid that Mr. Martines is destined to be irrelevent when it comes to city politics through his own incompetence. It could have been different I suppose If he was not so angry and confused. The fact that he and his supporters have resorted to name calling pretty much somes up the substance of their positions. Frankly, I feel sorry for Mr. Martinez as he is being mislead by people who do not have the best interests of the city in mind.

Your sympathy for Mr. Martinez is admirable. As to his being 'misled' by people is laughable. Sadly the best interests of the city have gone by the wayside since the alejo groupies have come into power. They have a one track mind and it is set on 'hispanic/latino/mexican' power. They have forgotten that it took many people of all backgrounds to create this city and to keep it alive. They claim the city is 70-80%'hispanic/latino/mexican ' and yet that percentage would be cut in less than half if the undocumented persons were returned to their country/ies of origin. No, I wouldn't feel so sorry for Mr. Martinez. He has proven that a person of ethic background can succeed and can make a positive difference in this world. He has the city's best interest at heart and speaks out to defend it from the 'union socialists' who would like to own it. No. I wouldn't feel so sorry for Mr. Martinez, but better to feel sorry for yourself and your kind.

Common that I was there too is a troll. Copied another great poster's name.

Have you seen Dodge's house. Breaking laws with the vehicles on the lawn etc. A great example.

The council is going to take this city to the lowest level yet. From Rios to Alejo and now DODGE. wow. Stir the pot with Rivas, Bersi and there is trouble. Then you throw a white guy that doesn't know what he is doing in. TROUBLE is what you get.

Thank you res, beginning Jan 1st it is a misdemeanor to e-impersonate someone on the internet. Looks like "I Was There Too" did just that. I'm glad someone realized that it wasn't me who wrote that. Thanks again, it's good to be back.
