Victory Outreach is a godsend to gangsters, and to those of us who live in the same area as Latino gang members, and their associates. God Bless them. They bring redemption and real hope and change to sinners.

These people have very cruel tactics, spiritual abuse. It's a cult that people can not get out of. They take advantage of their residents, take their money, wear them down. They are not humane and their residents are never the same once through their program. They should be shut down.

The gangbangers dont need this program..when they go to prison..Jesus will be waiting for them..because every potential Inmate knows Jesus always hangs out in the Reception Centers of the Department of Corrections..Thats where they all find him...but somehow upon parole...they leave him in the dust..How sad!!Johnny at the harbor, Telling it.

There's a lot of money in religious based "recovery" these days. All the failing christian churches are jumping on the bandwagon. IRS reporting time! Tax all those assets they are imbezzling from their families (not only gang members). I am hearing Victory Outreach is actually an operation under the Mexican Mafia.

Religious leaders ought to stop encouraging everyone to "be fruitful and multiply."

Then they wouldn't have to make a great big show of trying to undo the consequences later.

Why would the Sentinel run something on dangerous, abusive cults? Be more responsible, Sentinel.

Only in Santa Cruz will people call other people who try to help others through religion a CULT.
Only in Santa Cruz will people call self-help groups and recovery centers abusive and a CULT!
Only in Santa Cruz will people refer to do-gooders, 12-step groups, religious groups and other who try to help kids get out of gangs ABUSIVE.

Victory Outreach is a cult that takes advantage of addicts desperate for recovery...financial scam. The so-called Pastors are crooks! They abuse the Section 8 vouchers they have by bringing people into their homes, not reporting it to the Housing Authority, and then charging these people an arm and a leg to live with them. On top of it, they become their slaves...forcing them to cook, clean, and take care of their kids. They not only do they brainwash the minds of these people, who actually believe in their "saving" abilities, they steal their soul! Talk about grandiosity! They are not God,DON'T GET FOOLED by these so called ex-addicts that are using God's name to take advantage of the masses. Guilting their followers to give a % of their earnings is ridiculous...people should give what they want and only if they want to! This money is not going to God, it's going straight into the pocket of the so- called Pastos...a.k.a. Thieves! THIS CULT IS A JOKE! Don't by a victim of these crooks!

Lol give a % of there earnings. Look further and you will find Victory outreach takes it all. Deprives people of food and sleep.and forces them to spend there lives working and reading the Bible. Many of the addicted are court ordered to be there. It is the pure definition of a cult.

Holy crap the truth!!!! I can't agree with you more with this comment.

People are so stupid to see the reality. Most of these gang members come from large families who's parents were overwhelmed by having so many kids that they couldn't give them a proper upbring
