This young lady was just a baby. God be with her family and friends at this time.

She was a baby, yes but did you see the news - i forget which channel - they were talking about things found on her myspace website and it involved drugs, sex, other things and her mom says it's nothing more than "being a normal teenager" Well? It's what we know - that kind of stuff is not good for any age and often leads to sad outcomes, such as this death. It's too bad. Young people need more positive role models, more positive things to do with their lives. Parents are working hard just to make ends meet and oftentimes do not realize what their children are doing. We all are so inundated with garbage from all media sources that it "seems okay" and "seems normal" but it's NOT. Hope they find the perp.

I feel sorry for the family and friends. It took the police this long to decide it was a homicide? Thats ridiculious!

What the news fails to mention is that this girl had wrote that she was cleaning up and that she no longer wanted the life of drugs. Maybe rather than reporting a small bit of the information the media will learn to report all of it in context or just not report anything at all.

Hey Media, do you actually really expect the media to report in a non slanted way? When you find an example of that, let me know. I will in turn show you the promise land!

No Charlie sadly I know that the idea of a non-slanted media is just a dream. I dont even know if its the idea of being slanted to the left or to the right its more about what sells. Maybe if we as a culture insisted on a non slanted media then maybe we could have a source for real news. Then again thats probably an even bigger dream.

it sounds like you knew the girl, so i'm sorry for your loss. but you're not actually blaming the media, right? and what is the media lying about in this case?

Would it have been better for this yourn girl to have been a stellar virgin with no history? Would that make her untimely murder more palatable to your obvious high moral standards?

Get a grip girl, a young woman died at someone else's hands and you are talking about what she put on a website? What a narrow minded selfish malcontent you seem to be.

I know the girls father and he's not caring what was on the website one bit.

Too bad you think only virginal women's deaths should be reported. What a loser.

I think you're the loser, kid. You missed the point which was directed at young people in general and not about this one particular girl. How many "sweet" young things have to die before people like you wake up and realize that certain CHOICES and lifestyles are dangerous?

There are many more young men killed and we do not hear half as much about them. It is easier to paint a rosy picture of a "beautiful girl" but all deaths that are not natural should be reported and followd up on, regardless of who/what the victim was.

YOU should get a grip on REALITY. No, my standards are not high. I have compassion for anyone, regardless of their race, religion, lifestyle, etc... That's not at issue. What is at issue is this young girl had a lifestyle and/or acquaintances that may have led to this situation.

It does not matter one whit to me if she's a virgin, a whore, a nun, whatever. Murder is murder. My heart goes out to the parents because for the rest of their lives, they will be asking themselves what they could have done differently.

I think YOU are the one that's narrow=minded. Face reality. The girl who talks to her parents, stays away from drugs and criminals is less likely to end up in a ditch. I'm not saying she won't - I'm saying that her chances have been halved by not getting involved with the criminal element.

It's people like you, who stick their heads in the sand that cry the hardest and keep hollering for "justice" - I still say that the old adage holds: An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

One of my sons is involved in drugs and lives a lifestyle that has me thinking one of these days I'm going to get that phone call I don't want to get. I have another son who is not involved in drugs and is doing everything he can to be a model citizen. Do I love one less than the other? No. Do I do more for one than the other? Yes, because the one involved in drugs does not come around - he's too out of it or in jail most of the time.

Of course this girl's father doesn't care what's on her website. He just knows that his daughter is gone and nothing is going to bring her back. It does not matter now. You see? We love our children, no matter what. We do not have to approve of what they do or where they go or who they hang out with. This girl's father has to foucs on the now and the future. Rather than worrying about what was, what could have been, it is best for him to focus on what he can do to bring justice for her and to bring healing to his family.

Amber Turberville was my best friend. We grew up together. We were practicly like sisters. I was the one not to get into the drugs and hard parting. I tried to get her to come home....Missy by you stating and i qoute "that kind of stuff is not good for any age and often leads to sad outcomes, such as this death." such as this death? first off who did this and why has not even been solved so therefore you have no idea it even has anything to do with that stuff. Amber Was a Beautiful person, friend, sister, duaghter and human being alone. who deserved to live a longer life. and i will miss her smile, laugh, and all the little things that made me love her as a person.

i am a friend of ambers. yes she did have problems with drugs and yes she had somewhat of a crazy lifestyle for some time but she was trying to get herself together. its pretty sad that you people can tear someone up like. my friends body was found in the desert and she went threw so much pain and all you care about is the life she lived. well let me tell you the kind of life she lived, she loved her friends, her family, especially her siblings, if she saw someone sad she was the first to make you laugh with her funny voice immitations and her funny faces she made, so before you write someone off as a horrible person because they are having a hard time fighting their demons maybe you should look at yourself and see if you are willing to make light of things and to laugh like amber, you dont know her and dont act like you did.
