It makes me wonder if they can do that to an animal, what are they capable of doing to another human being.
You know they don't take old, skinny horses. They want young, healthy,'beefy' horses. Many are off the race track and pumpedup with powerful equine drugs. These poor horses are not for dog-food but for HUMAN consumption, probably China. Europe does not want drug-meat. BLM is selling WILD horses to kill-buyers! This must stop , Roswell, WAKE-UP !

I'm 100% for the slaughter of horses.
afterall, our dogs and cats eat better than most of the planet.
Ones like you that project so much evil in this world. Most are stand up people and respect for others. They certainly don't view life as you do.

I read that the horses that they intend to slaughter are going to be sold for meat overseas. What next? Dogs and cats. It is time to stop this senseless slaughter before it even gets off the ground.

I could be wrong and I do not agree in any way but I thought that horse meat was a delicacy in France and was once one here in the US many many years ago until the people discovered horses were much to beneficial to be food. Like I said, I couldn't ever eat it but I was under the impression that other countries love it... Idk I I'm a horse owner and this topic bothers me a little.

They did et it in France but they are learning that much of the 'meat' is from Race Horses and full of Drugs that are very harmful and NOT permitted for Livestock. Horses are classified as Companion animals. The horses that go to skaughter are not old and skinny. They don't pay for bones. Many, if not most are off the track or those not good 'nuff for show by AQHA. It is extremely inhumane. They are only STUNNED not KILLED when the grizzly process begins. Look it up there is much info on the internet. This Slaughter plant is designed to be the end of the line for local Roswell and Texas Racehorses, There are at least 3 major Race Breeding, Mare and Track farms in Roswell.

Honestly don't think I could read it. I love horses and own many as I have my entire life. The ones we had to put down were put down correctly by a local vet with the exception of one when I was a young girl. He was really old and not that quick to get around anymore. It had been attacked by some type of predator (we believed by the wounds it was a mountain lion but never literally saw it) and by the time my dad and I arrived to give aid the damage had been done and he was too far gone to be nurtured back. I can still here my fathers voice saying it would only be cruel to allow him to continue suffering as he fired the single shot! I cried for weeks about that and to this day, many years later it still brings a tear to my eyes.. I just couldn't imagine slaughtering one of these beautiful pure spirited creatures because they are deemed not fit to run in a circle as fast as possible..

Well , i see someone need to spam me. with stealing my name and posting stupidity. If it says Albuquerque, it is not me. Probably someone who intends to work as a low-life pawn who needs to make minimum wage killing beautiful animals all day long, then he can go home and beat his wife to let off stress,

BEE, do you live in Roswell ? maybe you could get some local Veterinarians to write a letter to the local newspaper to stop it ?? Do you know who owns it other than DeLos Santos? Maybe you could get some friends with signs to protest out-side of it?? Talk to family, friends and neighbors... google it and find out the facts. Ask your paper to present the anti-slaughter side. You have a Kentucky Derby owner there. SURELY, he is against it. If you are a young person, get friends to make signs and protest in front of it. Call the paper. Educate yourself and make noise but do it quickly, before it is too late.

Look at our crime rate. This will tell you that you are RIGHT! And then? Crime will rise more. How wonderful, property value lower than now because of our current crime (murders & home invasions) more deaths, less businesses coming, less jobs. Bye-Bye Roswell, NM We knew you when
