Lol, many of them suffer from conditions that are yet to be named! But we as the electorate know we can pool them and come up with a diagnosis<G>.

Morality is not relative, science has not shown in any kind way of that people are "born" this way - inconclusive and biased studies at best, and when you're on the team that would rather FORCE choices on groups like the Boy Scouts or Chik Fil A, FORCE them to believe and act as you do...you are on the team that does not negotiate OR compromise...and are therefore stuck in your own immoral reality...
Are you REALLY totally comfortable making the same argument that restaurants and hotels made in the 1960s to defend excluding blacks?

The government can't stop someone from being a racist, but it sure as hell can and does tell a business it can't exclude someone because of their race.

And morality is TOTALLY subjective. It's almost the definition of subjective. Matter and natural laws (like gravity and conservation of matter) are the only things that aren't subjective. Everything else is made up by man...everything. If man did not exist, God would not exist.

We'll have to agree to disagree...on pretty much every point here...

In an effort to replace funds, the Boy Scouts will now be selling home-made chastity belts, rape whistles and bondage rope.

I'm not sure where this is going to go...but how come we never hear about anything like this pertaining to the Girl Scouts?

The only difference between the Obama administration and the Boy Scouts is the Boy Scouts have adult leadership.

And THIS is why the GOP is sinking. The humor is juvenile at best, based on facts not in evidence, and largely anonymous. They believe people voted for Obama because of "free stuff". The only question for them now is whether they want to continue to admit it, or whether they think there's a realistic chance of putting it back in the closet.

And their relationship with Latinos ..... comical, sad, tragic. It's like "Maybe if we slap our women around more often, they'll love us more".

So, by all means, do continue.

And if a tree fell in the forest and there was no one there would it make a noise?

Amazing that the issues seem to be about what a person believes over how they live their lives. Just take a look at how are servants in our seat of government live their lives.

Coming from the side that disbelieves that honor killings actually happen, that refuse to stand up for muslim women because after all it's just their culture and will defend women wearing burkas that have a better possibility of being a terrorist than a 1 year old girl or 90 year old grandma being thoroughly and without dignity searched...

Your comment is of course the comic relief we all need...

How about getting serious about the real problems of this country and stop shooting the other half of America?

They are giving each troop the decision to decide....it's not a sweeping rule....

Kind of like individual choice....freedom of conscience rather than foisting an ideology on people....against their own freedom of conscience....

Just like churches. Some openly accept gays, like the Episcopal Church here in town (Albq), and others don't. It is based on the group.

Yes, but the ultimate outcome will be that they can no longer have an official, organization-wide, discriminatory policy. If some chapters want to hold to the old ways, they will be able to. Methinks they will find themselves losing members to the more inclusive groups before long.

Nah, they'll just have different philosophies and ideaologies like the churches do....

So, you don't feel that any group, whatsoever, should exclude any group on the basis of....all the things in the laws?...though sexual orientation is obviously not one of them or else they would be legally recognized throughout the US. I find that odd. That the Boy Scouts will be more aligned with that non-discriminatory policy than the Feds or States. Guess it doesn't apply to them when it comes to marriage.

And my question was not meant as a reductio ad absurdum. It was about what constitutes a groups right to discriminate based on their beliefs and purpose. I think that if the Boy Scouts can't discriminate based on sexual orientation, and they are a "private" group, then what about marriage for gay couples? Shouldn't they be granted the same rights and privileges as the class of heterosexual couples?

At least there is a choice and I can go along with that. Now the question is, which way will "F" Troop decide<G>? Sorry, couldn't resist.
