Reductio ad absurdum always seems to work for you.
Don't think anyone thinks that government produced weapons in the public domain and under public control are the same as privately manufactured and held arms. That is why certain type of arms and ammunition are already restricted to the private sector. You seem to be the only one who is comparing apples to oranges to make your point and show its absurdity. Don't try to make others out to be as clueless or as disingenuous as you are.
Whats absurd is thinking you have the right to any arms you want.

You don't.

That's my point.

So the military will stop the punk that is trying to kill you in the dark alley???
Will they also take care of the coyotes that are killing your sheep??
How about the ground squirrels that are digging holes and your cattle are breaking their legs??
How about that Bear that wants to make you dinner???
The 2nd amendment says nothing about punks in dark alleys, coyotes, sheep, squirrels, cattle, or bears.

Gee, could that be because it's illegal to buy, own, or build a tactical nuke?
Hmmm, now imagine if we make it illegal to buy, own, or build an assault rifle?
Yeah, that's EXACTLY the point.
Can you even tell me exactly what an assault rifle is, moron???

This crazy kid lived in a house where the parents kept guns aplenty. He also lived in a house where his parents took him to church.

Neither the church nor the parents kept him from killing with easily available guns.

Without the guns, he and his parents would probably have just yelled at each other.

There's a federal definition- google it.

In general its a semi-automatic rifle with a pistol grip and detachable magazine which may or may not include features like a folding stock, grenade launcher, bayonet mount, flash suppressor, etc.

I'm flexible on just how broad or narrow to make the definition if that helps to get ban passed.

I do know this- if we don't do something about these mass killings, sooner or later the public is going to get sick of burying their kids and spouses and eventually decide it's time for ALL guns to be banned or severely restricted.
