Memorial service to honor missing pilot

28. The service for Lt. John Joseph Houston will be at Naval Air Station North Island in San Diego, Calif., where Houston was stationed before coming to Corpus Christi, Navy officials said.

I am highly disappointed in the US Navy and their lack of regaurd to human life. To ask a mother to give up hope on her son's safe return for the sake of getting plane's back in the air is beyond appauling for me. I am also disheartened by how quickly the search was ceased and relied upon friends family and strangers with no training to wade through marsh lands and face dangers such as rattle snakes and alligators to look for Joe! Because they who mind you were not looking had not found him in ten days declcared him deceased? Well I have a few questions for the navy like: Where is the plane? Have you ever seen Castaway or Gilligan's Island? You have obviously never met my God or know the power of his hand! I have always had the highest respect for the armed forces however, I am now truly concerened about the navy's disregaurd for one of their own. How can we feel protected when they dont even protect their own.
