I do not see this congregation fitting into our town. The school will be a private one small at first, then growing out of control. We will face the same problems as Woodbury. The children of our town cannot even use this facility. It will cost us in the long run.

I think you are right. The town will be changed forever. We don't need the extra traffic, we certainly do not need extra school buses. I think this school would have been better off to be used for the disabled. At least it would have provided more jobs for this town.

I know of this congregation. I lived in a small apartment complex next to them. They do want they want when they want and do not obey any rules or regulations.. They will start building and bringing in their trailers. Why else would they want 51 acres. The do not file any building permits or pay any fines. This will become a highly populated religious community that will live on the land and not pay any taxes. The town of Monsey is probably jumping for joy. Is it to late can something be done to stop this from going through?

It's almost certainly a seminal Kiryas Joel. Time passes, things change. I first noticed just the other day that the Convent signs had been spray painted over and I thought at the time, "Here comes another huge subdivision". These are good, devout, hard-working people, give them a chance. Once they're established, if they'd like to spin off into my neighborhood in Newburgh City... Ah, wishful thinking.

Be afraid New Windsor, be very afraid. The town will look like Spring Valley or Monsey inside of a year. ENFORCE ZONING LAWS. MAKE THEM PAY THEIR FAIR SHARE OF TAXES. Someone needs to step up here.
