What is amazing to me is that everyone is saying it is a teen driver. Well hello.... I drive that road every day and yes I would love to say it is teen drivers that do this kind of thing. But.... no I see every-one doing it. Man, lady, young and old. And probably the worst thing is to get behind a person driving 50 or 55 when the speed limit is faster. The average speed on that road is 80. No that is not the speed limit but we all do it to keep up with traffic. Maybe it wasn't a great time to pass but you do get behind slow vehicles and do these things. And yes we have all done it so don't lie. And yes we are not teen drivers and we still have done it. So lets just pray for the family and friends of all involved in this tragic accident.

I love that so many people abuse this service by arguing with each other about who has a bleeding heart, and who is an insensitive jerk. The focus of this discussion should only go in two logical directions. First, to provide condolence to the family of this young lady. I wish to show sympathy for the families loss and I'm sure that anyone outside of the reach of cynicism will do the same. Second, to discuss what can be learned from this accident so that the loss of this life may educate someone and help to prevent further lives lost. I'm sure that someone will find error in this post and that someone will think I'm a jerk, and that someone will think I'm a bleeding heart. I won't have to say anything about those people. If what they say is ignorant it will be obvious. If what they say is brilliant, that will be obvious. If I have to chime in to tell you how you should feel about your own comments or those of others, it would be clear that I don't trust you to have opinions of your own.

That afternoon, approaching the one-lane convoy from the north..I was tailgated at 65mph by a swerving women FLOSSING HER TEETH with both hands. When I didn't want to push 70mph..she flipped me off.

Too bad it was Ashlee and not her.

It pretty clear that women can't handle the resposiblilty of driving. How many women do you see everyday in a giant suv driving and talking on their cell phones? I see many. They need to hire drivers.
And you need to quit using the 'idiot stick' on yourself. This was a horrible accident. It didnt say she was speeding. It NEVER said she was using a cell phone. It said she passed a group of cars. Poor judgement? Obviously so! I feel incredibley heart broken for her family & friends. I feel aweful bad for the driver of the truck b/c his life will forever be effected one way or another by a decision that a young woman made. BUT he is thankfully a live to go home to his family and begin the healing process. This has NOTHING to do with men vs women or what they drive for goodness sake. Pull the ice cubes out of your bitter heart and have a candy bar to sweeten your bad attitude. Be angry for a senseless death and stop being so jealous that woman can multi-task and you cant quite figure it out! As for the cell phones on the streets... equal usage between the sexes. Dont be a hater. Target your anger in other areas and not on a story that has obviously nothing to do with your personal anger issues! The family and those close to this young woman are in mourning. I'm sure they dont need your lack of compassion and your ignorance.

Oh yeah you want to play the female card when it suits you. Zorry Hun - women are horrible drivers and they don't pay attention to rules of the road, common sense, or judging distances.

That drivers life is ruined by a horrible driver, unsafe in any conditions except tommorrow.

honestly. i feel sorry for all of you who sit here and bash a girl you didnt even know. im not saying she was perfect or even close to it. she made alot of bad decisions in her life and she took every day and made what she could of it. she was beautiful, funny, smart, independent, and responsible. most of all she was a great friend. i knew she always had my back and would always be there when i needed her. now she isnt here to stick up for herself. so to everyone who didnt know her, its your loss. to everyone that did, you're lucky. also, in case you all think she was passing a car, she wasnt. she reached down to grab something on the floor and her car drifted... ily ash

She was a beautiful girl with a beautiful heart.
She will be loved and remembered for this always.
I'm thankful for everyday I knew her.
She will continue to be in my prayers.
We do not know what life will bring.
All we can do is hope for the best.
And recover from the worst.
Love to you Ashlee, and your family.
