Is it just me or does the fact that they are including planning for mobile rather than ajusting the size of the school seem more than a little absurd.

I completely agree with the first post from Mark K., the blurb about planning for mobile classrooms is absurd, why not plan for the size of the school accordingly with projected growth in mind? I am pleased with the location and timing of this school and agree that more parking is crucial especially for home sports events, etc.

I agree with the above two comments. Why not build a two story school, with an elevator for any physically challenged students and use the additional space outside for parking? Plan ahead for growth and eliminate the need for mobile classrooms. Its not sound thinking to anticipate having to use mobile classrooms.

I agree completely with Cindy's recommendations.

Does anyone know the proposed date that the new High School in Cornelius off off Bailey will open? Just moved here and after visiting Hopewell HS, scared as heck to place my kids in that school.

Just for the record, a new school doesn't mean it will be a good school. Only time will tell.

Does anyone have any idea who will go to this school they are always changing the boundaries.

The school is scheduled to open August of 2010 and construction is currently on time. I heard that there may not be a senior class the first year. My daughter is a 2011 grad too and doesn't want to move for one year. Sometimes, they also give seniors the option to stay at the current school.

I was the first graduating class of hopewell, when hopewell was a good school. We had no seniors our first year. It worked out well. the way they drew the lines then was by I77. It will be interesting to see how things work out there. They will probably grandfather in all the students that want to stay at there current school so they can graduate from there current school. (thanks)
