my husband and children ate at the attic for the first time 2 years ago when it was in the small house in demorest, two people waitng with us on the porch said the food was so worth the wait- boy were they right!! the staff was super friendly, service was great- and the cook/chef was 4 feet away cooking on a open fire grill, wow what a place!we have ate lunch and dinner there and never ever had a bad meal or service! how can the one reviewer be from this plane!!? i recommened the attic to a friend who once lived in new york, and she has ate at many great restaraunts and she said it is some of the best food she has ate in georgia- she lives in atlanta, so she has tried many restaraunts- that to me speaks volumes!! we ate there for the first time since new owners have taken over and it is still outstanding!! call ahead seating is available, you have to eat at the attic- we have eaten there for going on three years now- trust me it is a must try place!

My family and i eat at the Attic regularly. It has a great atmosphere and the wait staff is fabulous. I have never had a bad meal. Their prices are very competitive for the quality of food and you receive plenty of food. Yes, the wait can be long but you can call ahead besides good fresh food is hard to come by. I will continue to eat there and the new owner's are freindly. Keep up the good work and you have earned my business.

I am absolutely surprised at any negativity towards The Attic...When I moved to Habersham County from Colorado, it was the first restaurant that I heard about and to be honest, the first restaurant I actually enjoyed dining at around this area. True, the wait may be a bit long sometimes, but it is well worth every minute. The prices are good for such portions and quality. Scott takes care to be sure that every plate looks and tastes great.
The food has been very good every single time, as has the service. I am impressed with the relaxing atmosphere, and with how smooth their new ownership transition has went about.
I have been a server before, and all I can say is that there are just some people out there that look for the bad in everything...in fact are hell bent on it. It's sad people can't just smile and enjoy the good things. These are the kind of people that those who work in food service abhor.
To anyone who thinks they have had a bad experience at The Attic, perhaps you should give it another try.
And for those who enjoy a good cup of coffee...theirs is the best coffee in town, in my opinion.
And where ever you go, tip your server well! Alot of them work very hard for every dollar!

i have eaten at the attic about 6 or 7 times since the move and the first time it was great. but the last time was feb 13th and when i asked the waitress for the specials she couldn't tell me if they were good because the owner said that it was to expensive for the staff to try it. i ordered the chicken filled ravioli anyway and when i got it i literally had to use my steak knife to cut it. i don't understand how the wait staff is supposed to try to push a special when they have no idea what it tastes like. come on now, how much could it cost to have a sample so a person can give an honest opinion?

Please don't make your decision on comments like that. Cornelia/Clarkesville Area is so pretty, plus Helen is close too.

We ate at the Attic on Friday April 11, 2008. I ordered the Tres Chicken (3 chicken breast, one was Carribean, Terik., and Firecrusted). They were delicious. The firecrusted was spicy but great. We got there at 5:30pm so we didn't have to wait but when we left around 6:25pm people were waiting for tables. The place is decorated very cool also. The experience was good and I wanted to share with other. My friend ordered the shrimp/full rack of ribs and enjoyed it. The servings are very large so come hungry.

I see many are complaining about others comments on here. Every experience can't be PERFECT so let people give their opinions without talking bad about them. They may have had a bad experience, every restaurant has its days so please stop talking bad about people if they give their opinion. That is what the forum is for, to give our individual opinions about the restaurant not about each other. =)

I've only eaten at the attic twice. The first time was excellent they had a mahi mahi special with crab meat wich was absoulty delicious worth every cent. However, the second time i ate there i orderd the new york strip and it was a little overcooked and dry. But I won't let one bad experience stop me from returning to the attic. The service is great the atmosphere is wonderful. I work at a private resort and whenever someone asks about a good place to eat thats out of town I still reccomend the attic.

I tried the New York Strip recently and it was just right,I could have used a refill on my drink.
Other than that it was a pretty respectable steak.

My husband and I, along with family and friends have had wonderful meals at The Attic, both this new locatin and the previous for years. You are making a huge mistake if you bypass this wonderful restaurant. Scott is the best chef!

My husband and I drive from Hayesville NC on a regular basis to meet family and friends at The Attic. We loved their old location and find the new one very exciting. Scott is an excellent chef. You need reservations on a weekend. This place is always packed! After reading many fantastic reviews, you are the exception which makes me wonder about you?? They do not serve fast food with fast fat and sugary drinks.

Does the staff have to wear any kind of uniform because I am thinking about applying for a job?

You grew up in a restaurant? I hope you didn't bathe in the dish water. It's a small business and the food is good, though definitely not run by a renowned chef or anything. It's much better than most of the spots around Habersham county, but it's no Glen Ella Springs. Longhorn opens soon just 5 miles down the road, and if their other locations are any tell-tale, the food is better, faster, and cheaper. I feel for the Attic's owners however, it was a decent place, though the owner is a complete douchebag. Hope this helped :P.
