It is just like when the mill shut down six
years ago.we were lied to then left high and dry
It is the same now with this fire that destroyed
downtown.the mayor wants tourists to visit our
town.For what?What is left here?Not a thing,but
a community left in ruins!!

When is anyone going to take some action in this town & rebuild our business district & work on getting an industry here? The mill is gone so lets get on with getting a replacement for it. Philmet keeps promising a plastic factory but what year? The town of Moreau just aquired a pellet factory. Where was our good old SEDC?
Why didn't Corinth get a chance at it? I remember when Hillary Clinton promised to bring 200,000 jobs to upstate NY if she was elected Senator. Did anyone ever see 1 job because of her promises. She was always going to Buffalo which she called upstate NY & according to my directions Buffalo is Western NY. I asked her office to give her a compass & a map as she seemed to be lost. Oh well, that's all the politicans do is promise. We should be used to it by now.

A couple years ago many Corinth residents raised a lot of cain over the proposed NYC garbage burning power plant. A massive garbage burn plant would not have created huge numbers of jobs for local people, some yes, but not anything significant. Fighting that, in my opinion, was the right thing to do even with the tax revenue loss. We need to see what Philmet and IP are going to do with the hazardous waste on the property. Unfortunately, probably nothing. That's what is wrong. Companies walk away leaving the tax payers to figure it out.
