The citizen who accused Mitch Saunders for slander has publically apologized to Mr. Saunders saying she was mistaken. But I guess it would take a very understanding person to accept her apology and to realize she was mistaken. Is this the type of people that should hold a public office? Someone who cannot forgive a person for a mistake? Let's hope he doesn't ever make a mistake. No one was trying to manipulate the campaign. The 3 people competing for the 2 Board seats were republicans.

I was at that meeting and Mitch Saunders immediately accused several others at the meeting that they were "in on it" like it was a big conspiracy or something. What most impressed me (NOT) was the bad temper tamtrum I observed. Like watching a little kid slat around. Can't take the heat -- get out of the seat.

I was at that meeting also. I agree with taxpayer & resident regarding the temper tantrum. I only wish that one of the TV stations could have been there. When a person takes a public office they have to have an understanding mind toward the people they are representing. Mitch Saunders has proved that he doesn't. It was very sad to have our Supervisor have a sheriff escort the person who accused Mitch out of the building. This person had returned quietly to her seat. It's ironic because a couple of weeks before this meeting Mitch Saunders called a citizen a liar more than once and he wasn't even reprimanded or told to quiet down. Such is our elected officials. Time for a change????

I hope everyone read the article in 10/2/07 Post Star. "BOARD SILENCES PUBLIC AT METINGS" The public can no longer make comments to the board at Town Board Meetings. The last I knew I am living in USA. Free Speech ia a constituional right. If this board cannot cope with the public then they shouldn't be sitting in those seats.
