Ok, so I've seen a few discussions with the title "Jobs in Corinth" and most of it is just ranting and raving. Well, I'm personally tired of the crying and bitching about it, so here's what I'm going to do... I'm going to start this thread so that people can add jobs they've heard about, as well as update the ones that are already filled. No bashing, no drama, this is strictly for the people that WANT to better themselves.

First off:
WalMart is hiring, not sure of the position, but do like I did, and select them ALL.
Link - http://walmartstores.com/careers/

Pennzoil is hiring for 2(?) positions from what I've heard. If you don't mind vacuuming out cars, and changing oil, there's a start for someone who is into the car field.

I believe the railroad is hiring, but that might have only been for me... Never hurts to try.

Fast food is usually hiring, but I don't have any good ones to name right off. I think Arby's is hiring.

If you know of anywhere that is hiring, please feel free to share, and put what kind of qualifications you might need for the job. Also, Chances are that most employers are going to require a drug screen, so if this doesn't apply to you, don't take offense: Get clean, pass the screen, and get a job!

Believe the new jail will be hiring soon if not already. Talk to sheriff Rinehart. I believe he has some final say.

Depends on what kind of qualifications you have. It's a lot easier for me to get a job at places because I can weld, and I have certs out the yang as far as cars go. ACCO in booneville is hiring. They make dry erase boards and such.

Radio shack does as well have a sign up, but they must be pretty particular about who they hire. Kind of discriminatory if you ask me. Just because I look like a muscle-head, doesn't mean I can't help people out with electronics... I guess all the certifications for electrical troubleshooting and diagnosis are just pieces of paper :) Oh well.

Mt dew you just seem over qualified for everything. How many certifications do you actually have there?

I have LOTS. I would have to actually go out to my shop and make a list. I'm certified to touch anything with an internal combustion engine, I am qualified to rewire an auto, I know a bit about computer programming, I have a website dedicated to Mazda engines, how they work, and common fixes. I'm a qualified welder, with Stick, MIG and TIG, I'm Airborne Jump status qualified, I mean, there are a lot of things I have on paper, and even more I've just learned on my own, or under apprenticeship. Now, since this IS topix, I'll nip this in the bud... I don't claim to know EVERYTHING, but what I do know, I know quite a bit about. I'm signing up next semester to take auto-body and collision repair, and after that, I may pursue a career in accident recreation, and work one of those great state jobs (rolls eyes) but at least I'd have insurance and benefits! I'm not like most 23 year olds, I've been like a sponge since I hit 18 and decided drinking and drugs were really holding me down. Since then, I'd like to say I'm making leaps and bounds towards what I would like to accomplish in life: A comfortable living for myself and my family.

A jack of all trades huh? I had to move to Memphis for a decent job but I am looking for something back home. Can't stand this godforsaken place. I am a certified pharmacy and diesel technician. Know anybody hiring?

Not offhand, but I hear about stuff all the time. I work at a major retailer here in town, but I'm always on the lookout. I was a certified diesel tech at Long Lewis FLM here in Corinth last year, fresh out of the Army, sadly they didn't have enough work for me to do. Either that or they didn't like paying me. Either way, good riddance! But to answer your questions, Yes, I am a jack of all trades, I do a lot of sidework for other peoples cars, I'm a craigslist bartering fool, and I work the retailer job, and a full time daddy and husband. Life can't throw enough opportunities at me, because I want to utilize everything I can. I've seen so many of my friends addicted to drugs, and they don't have anything. I also have friends that sit around and collect a check... Neither is my preferred method of 'existing' so I want to make something of myself.

It's just a bit discouraging sometimes. Some days I look at it like I have an easy job for 10 bucks an hour, then I think I could be making 20 an hour, and I'm not.

You have to crawl before you walk. You have to learn to be humble with what you have before you are blessed with more.

Well, I'm about as humble as I can get. My car is messed up, my other one that was en-route was stolen, and I've had thieving family trying to push my buttons... not to mention walking to and from work in the rain. if I get any more humble or have to fake a smile much longer, I'm probably gonna lose it.
