What's interesting is we may only get liquor allowed in restaurants but no package stores.

If the aldermen restrict it to just restaurants, that is a big mistake. You see, we will get people from McNairy, Tish, and Tippah counties driving here to pick up liquor. Lost of people in Corinth will still drive out of town to get theirs for fear of being seen by the pillars of the community and gossipers. But we will still get the neighboring counties' citizens coming here. That is a boon to the local economy. The restaurants are also good but they are not the whole pie.

I would say it like this well if you don't want liquor don't vote, but if you do want liquor make sure you vote yes :-)

Leave it to Corinth to F-uck it up. It better be where you can buy it by the bottle & not just the drink. If they don't do it right it won't help the city at all.

I want it buy the bottle. That's like saying ok we'll open up an IHOP but you must eat inside only. If so I'll vote no to that.

VOTE YES PEOPLE it will still help the city of Corinth even if it is by the drink I live in Jonesboro ar and its the same way here taxes will be higher but still it will help the county and plus it will bring a lot more entertainment to Corinth and more restaurants to choose from that is what Corinth needs it has so much potential to grow and this will be the opportunity for it to happen!!!

Haha, thanks for backing me up. They were wrong, but at least they were somewhat nice about it. I get mean idiots correcting me a lot. Then I just let them go on being wrong. I am not their teacher, and I sure do not owe them anything. Let them embarrass themselves in front of others with their ignorance.

Yea, ok I will let you, and the one you "defended" go on thinking you're correct, becouse I am just nice like that. Lol

But in the future, you may want to read the entire post.

Either way, I'm not as great a most at grammer, but looks like I'm moving ahead in reading comp. ;)

At the rate beer sells in the city limit alone, liquor will passed like 9-1 in a vote.

Nah, not 9-1. Every time liquor comes up for a vote in the county it has been close, like five or so percentage points. Being that this is a city only referendum and being that you got business interests weighing heavy with the folks from the hood and the progressive types and a far weaker church presence, it will be about 70 percent FOR to about 30 percent AGAINST.

So I'm calling it at a 2+/1 margin but not 9-1. That would be impossible even in Amsterdam, buddy.

Don't bet on it. I would vote for it but remember it's failed twice already. it's a speacial ballot and that draws only the most motivated to the polls. look for Church congregants to be out in mass, even those who did not show up Nov.6

jus sayin !

Me being a former drinker and drug user I have to question the thought process behind anyone wanting wiskey being sold where they live. I know the pitfalls that go along with having such things readily available. Beer drunk is one thing and wiskey drunk is a whole other animal. The worst thing naturally is driving drunk, but the violence that alot of times that goes along with wiskey is bad. Wiskey drunks are more likely to abuse their wives and children.
Those are just my thoughts. If it goes in I hope none of that happens.
