I never really understood this. If you love someone enough to marry them, why cheat?

Or, if you sneak around with a married person, and they say their marriage isn't doing good, then why don't they get divorced? All they are doing is stringing you along, and there is never a good outcome.

Am I the only one who thinks it is wrong?

I agree that its wrong. I also understand that it's human nature. As far as the divorce thing that's the oldest trick in the book. No man that has kids and a stable life is going to leave that for uncertainty nor is a female.

I can answer this.....sometimes a person is faced with a choice to be married so to speak, circumstances arrive that you feel if you don't marry them you will lose them, then when ur married....it's not what u thought, ur loney, mis-treated and sad. You want to get a divorce, you want to live your life for what u have left. Have fun, feel loved. U seperate.....try to be an adult with sharing your children, you meet someone who you fall for quick, one who is everything you are looking for and treats you how you want to be treated, your scared and don't want this but you have been lonely so long u can't help it. Meanwhile, your ex is whining and wants to do right....promises...promises. Your children are missing their parent and not understanding what's going on. You suddenly feel like the bad guy, the bad heartless person, so what do you do? By chance the new flame turns douchebag. Then your insecure wall is built once again, you think to yourself, I have someone crying over me? Why me? What's so special about me? You realize, the memories, the kids and your ex's feelings are more important than your own happiness. You go back, only to still feel empty to an extent, what's worse....the new flame that let u down likes to stay in touch, u try to cut ties and do what's right but you can't help but wonder, then u get pissed and say Fu** this assho*e! They had their chance! So ya see, no tricks, some people really try to figure what to do. It's not up for your assumptions. It's not your life. So fuc* U!

I should never have gotten married. I feel that my wife conned me.

Getting married changed EVERYTHING. When we were dating she was a good person. She was full of excitment and life. She liked to try new things... I could go on and on. And at the risk of being called shallow, she was gourgous! She weighed about 110 lbs. She took care of herself, wore makeup etc.

And we didn't rush into anything. We dated for about 7 years!

When we married, it all changed. She now weighs over 220 lbs. and couldn't care less about how she looks. We never do anything fun. We argue constantly.(I can't seem to do anything right) And so on...

I was tricked. Plain and simple "bait & switch".

I wish I'd never gotten married.

p.s. I haven't cheated. Not yet anyway. I'm not sure why. I guess I don't want to think of myself as a bad person.

There is no reason for a man that has a successful job to get married. If she cheats, she gets half anyway. If she sits and home and doesn't work and blows up like a whale and cheats, she gets half. Today's US women have an entitlement mentality and no longer have the Biblical attitude for marriage. God help a man that gets one of these pregnant because then the woman gets a stipend until the child is 18 or older. Its a penalty that most men pay for getting one of these suckers pregnant. Just don't get married and by all means, use contraception!

I won't comment on the bible reference. But I agree that our legal system is tilted to favor the female.

IVE CHEATED ON MY HUSBAND BEFORE. AT FIRST IT WAS EXCITING. YOU SOON LEARN THERES MORE HURT IN THAT THAN THE LONELY MARRIAGE YOU ARE IN. I SAY GET SINGLE GET YOUR LIFE TOGETHER AND THEN FIND SOMEONE NEW.
IF YOUR MARRIAGE IS EMPTY AND DEPRESSING, LEAVE AND TAKE MY ADVICE. GET YOURSELF TOGETHER FIRST THEN FIND SOMEONE YOU WANT TO BE WITH AND WORK AT IT SLOWLY.

Why get a divorce and hurt my children only to be single and have more losers like the one I met when I was seperated? Showed me just how much is out there....if that's what I have to look foward to I will stay married.

Cheating does a hell of a lot more damage than the "cheaters" realize until, of course, after it's too late. Divorce or stay marrried either way, don't cheat!! Be honest with your spouse, you'd be surprised how far that will get you!!

My advice is as follows- I've been there, marriage isn't easy, it's full of ups and downs. You have to learn to take the good with the bad. Nobody said it was easy....but it is worth it. My husband and I have went through a lot, we almost divorced. I realized that to go through all we have went through and still be hanging in there counts for something, nobody is perfect. Communication is your best bet and forgiveness. Don't make repeated mistakes but dig down deep and find the underlying problem as to why your marriage is falling apart, because at one time u loved each other enough to make the choice to spend the rest of your lives together.........

What happens if he continues to cheat? I know he texts and meets her all the time. He comes home smelling of her perfume and he's always defensive when I bring her up? He wants a divorce, but we have a little boy together.

Then you need to cheat too! Have an open marriage. He just wants to get his rocks off but comes home to YOU.

An open marriage is great!

Brilliant!!! Concise and to the point. A pencil sketch by Picasso couldn't be more to the point with as few strokes.
