It is legally named entrapment. It is illegal for them to sit with no parking lights on if they are shooting radar. But there's no need to argue with any troopers around here. Their word will be before yours. My advice it to pay it and slow down! Would you rather lose your life or just get up early enough to get to class without having to speed?

There is a school zone between booneville and Corinth the speed does change from 65 to 55 then 45 for safety I got a ticket in that zone the trooper was very nice and not gungho !! I have 2 retired state troopers in my family they deserve respect until you do there job and see the kind of things they see don't disrespect them o by the way I'm paying my ticket just because I have had 2 uncles to retire from the MHP dosent mean I can break the law !! Thanks Mr. King you made me realize I was indangering school children !!

I was looking at my ticket todAy and realized he wrote the wrong speed limit in the box- he wrote 75 in a 55 instead of in a 65. I got my ticket right before the weigh station on 45 coming from tn. Wonder if this would void the ticket?
You need to go look at the speed where he clocked you at not where you got stopped at.

I am aware of the speed drop in the biggersville school zone- thats where I got my first ticket ever, the one I Went to driving school for, 75 in a 45. Yes I realize it was wrong and I was going way to fast.

BUT this ticket was on highway 45 going south, right after I crossed the tn state line into Mississippi heading south. Before you get to the scales, by the exit for purdy school road- where you turn to go toward pickwick. It's 65? I've checked... Today is Monday, I got it on a Saturday night. I think I'm going to call and ask about it. Thanks to everybody for their responses (:

you were still speeding. I'm sure he gave you a court date. just take it up with the judge, in court.

I agree, pay it and be happy. I do disagree with their practice of hiding though. If you only catch a glimpse of a car while staring at a radar gun, you are failing as a public safety officer. The reason being you cannot tell at this point who is wondering cuz their drunk or texting. You also are not serving as a deterrent for future activities. Lastly I have had an occasion to try to find a trooper (pre cell phone) and you can't flag down what you can't find. But, you were wrong so just pay it and slow down.

My husband went to court on 2 occasions with the intent to fight the ticket. Both times the hp officer did not show up for court and the judge threw the ticket out bc of it. Good luck and yes you can go to driving school.

Sitting with my lights off is not entrapment... Me telling you to go ahead and run 75 then giving you a ticket is entrapment.. Just slow down is all we ask ...

Why is it if you know someone you can get out of a ticket? But if you dont you gotta pay....

Why are ticket prices not based on your income?

I mean come on a person making 8.00 an hour can barley afford to pay a ticket. But someone making 50K a year and up have no trouble...

Not saying you should be speeding but my point is the guy making 50K a year wont think as much about speeding again as the guy making 15K a year...
That is not right....

Oh I definitely plan to slow down and pay attention to my speed. I was just ten over, but I can't afford a ticket! Minimum wage part time plus college... Money is tight. Im just bad to not keep an eye on the speedometer, guess I got a heavy foot and no cruise control lol. I've been to driving school once & they said it was too soon to go again. But I appreciate everyones answers and advice! Thanks to all (:

No, I just went last year for a $209 ticket... I paid $40 for driving school, wrote a 500 word essay, turned it into justice court and my ticket was dropped

This is just too easy....

I want a big 10 bedroom mansion sitting on a cliff overlooking Pickwick Lake. Since I can't afford a house that big, why can't the price be adjusted down to my income level so I won't be denied that big fancy house.

I'd also like a big steak for dinner tonight instead of ramen noodles, but since I can't afford it, maybe the price should be lowered to give me the steak I so rightly deserve.

I also want an Aston Martin to drive around town instead of my little beater. But I can't afford it, so maybe the dealer should lower the price for me.

I just got a ticket for 80 in a 65. It's going to cost me $162.00 I haven't had a ticket in many years. I didn't realize I was going that fast. I try to keep it at 73 or less and they don't stop me. Oh well, pay it and go on.

PS-there is no quota, they can write as many as they want.
good advice
