We have Kossuth water and it is horrible. I asked for iron out and they wouldn't give me any. Lately our water has an onion odor to it. It's always something and my bill is always around $45. We have no leaks either. When I complained they said I would have to come to their meetings and complain then. We have to filter our water and it uses the filters fast. Kossuth water is a disgrace!

That's ridiculous that you would have to 'come to a meeting to complain';, if you have a legit complaint, it's their flippin' job to check it out!

You ought to have to drive by the pumping station daily. It smells like someone just let a real nasty fart in your car. We`ve had to buy drinking water for years. Health Department wont do anything. The Public Service Commisioner promises to look into the problem and you never hear a word. I wish all the Alcorn County Officials had to drink one glass per day. I bet itd get fixed then.

I was told that the Farmington water that we get was supposed to be very good. Is that true?

I was raised at Kossuth and the water has always been that way for as long as I can remember, always it smelled of eggs. I live at Glen now and am on Farmington Water and from being at Kossuth all my life and coming out here, I never new water was so different and NO Smell (Some days a hint of chlorine); I was shocked. When I go visit my family in Kossuth and I don't drink the water.

Not only is the water bad but the women they have working in the office are the most unfriendly people I have ever seen. They push the drawer out for you to pay and never say hello and then push it back out and never say have a good day or thank you But,I guess they know we have to come back because we have no choice.

You are so correct. They act like they are pissed at the world, but boy does that change when one of there board members are there. The next thing is they are never at work on time. They will run over you trying to get to work in the mornings. Maybe they should try getting a earlier start. They act as if there customers owe them to be there. There sure are lots of people needing a job these days. Maybe they are just that unhappy, you know you can get to many family members under one roof!!

Alcorn County Water Receptionist are just as rude and don't care. Kossuth's water is worse though, but it is still sad when no one cares. There should be a way to make it better.

This water needs to be tested more often. They say all tests show normal, but how can "normal" be so bad? I ran a bath for my youngest child the other night and when he went in the bathroom he said "I am not taking a bath in tea". That is how brown it is! The water has rotted out our sinks and hot water heater and our house is 4 years old? If it would roit out appliances, think of what its doing to out bodies! I usually pay $30/month for my bill, then I have to buy bottled water and replacement filters for our Brita pitcher. This really adds up! Sometimes I can still smell the water after I shower and god forbid, you can't wash anything white! Something needs to be done. I wonder if that is why the Kossuth area has more people with cancer than any other part of the county?.....ponder on that
