Why haven't we heard anything from Oakland about liquor since it became legal?

I would have expected them to at least say something about the alcohol being introduced. They were all so passionate about it before the election and now nothing. They talked about helping people and saving the community but now that they will have the opportunity to do so, I am sure they will sit on their all mighty thrones and look down on us all.

Maybe, after the vote was tallied, it was accepted by "Oakland" and other folks, and no other remarks are warranted.
Remember, its still ok (I think) in America to stand up for what you believe in.

I wonder how many members frequent wine drinking themselves. I also wonder how many will take advantage of the convenience.

Personally I wouldn't know, have never been to oakland, and know very few that go there.
Oakland was just the subject matter.

Could it be that secretly many of Oakland's finest enjoy a toddy for themselves from time to time?

Which one of you is the queer that bad mouths this church because they refused to have you in a teaching type position because your s queer?? You change your name so much. You better be proud they allowed you to stay!! Any other church would have showed you where the door was. See I know that everybody has a soul and needs to hear the word but if your smart enough to teach a class then your smart enough to know how embarrassing it is to you, the church and to GOD to get up and brag about it!! This is not queerifornia so if you looking for a warm embrace you better pack your bags

A response fill with this much anger is one of the reason so many people don't feel welcome in your church. If they don't feel welcome, they don't come, they don't realize that Christ is the only hope they have. I wouldn't be able to sleep with that on my heart.

We choose not to talk but to pray for the morality and safety of our community. Saddens me to see new business opening to sale liquor. I'm sure there are some who attend on Sunday's that had a drink the night before...but not all of us! For those who accuse of judging you are doing the same. The church is full of sinners...that's why we have churches! Fortunate for us...God doesn't say to anyone that they can't be saved because they had a drink the might before.

I hate to hurt your feelings but if its the person I'm thinking about he was a teacher over kids. Now if you don't know by now that being a queer is wrong and hadnt already been convicted. It's a great chance they not gonna be (because they are not willing to give up wrong doing)

I hate to hurt YOUR feelings, but ALL have sinned and fall short of the the Glory of God. Your sin is no better than anyone else's. Besides your original sin, I am sure there are quite a few others of which you are guilty. I do not know you, but I don't have to know you. And yes, your boasting, is a sin.

You might be right to a point but NOBODY is gonna have a queer in their church trying to teach the world of God

Y'all open up too many issues on here that can possibly be discussed with all facts being present. First of all im a Christian and i do have a glass of wine, i try to every night but usually too busy and forget so i end up drinking 2-3 glasses per month. I don't drink to get drunk i drink wine because its very good for your health WITH MODERATION. what you never hear anything about is the many taking prescription drugs which are stronger, more addictive and impair you much worse than liquor. I know ppl who wouldn't touch a drink of wine or a hot toddy for a cold but will pop an oxycontin or lortab with the least little ache or pain thinking its ok because the Dr gave it to them, and there's not a stigma with the older generation over prescription drugs like alcohol. Problem is with your churches around here its more about what other ppl think rather than worrying about what God thinks.

We are all born as sinners, remember Adam and Eve? I had bad things to say about those 2 with each labor pain I had during child birth! The family at Oakland truly cares about you! And doesn't judge people because of SIN. All churches and all denominations, are packed with sinners! But remember we have a merciful GOD, who loves u and will forgive u of sin. That doesn't mean that all Oakland members and other churches has a house of 0 zero sinners! I feel that Dr, Randy Bostic is one of the best preachers I have ever known! He has a precious wife, children , grand children, sisters , etc, that I have very much respect for! And brother Jim, and the entire group! So do not down the church because they as a church family didn't want to see liqueur voted in. Sin is sin, and we ALL fall short! But I love my Maker, and HE loves me , and loves u as well. I agree that a man that makes a confession of being a homosexual should not be teaching or directing music , to our children or adults? I pray for this man, and if he continues worshiping at Oakland ? This man will change his views on homosexual activity! That is wrong , and if ur able to read , look it up for ur self in the Bible. It's plain as day. Good work at Oakland!

Why are you people feeding fuel to this troll? Use some common sense and don't respond to attempts at arguing. It proves their point and makes oakland look bad by participating in such garbage.
