Why does everyone want to blame others? Nobody knows all the circumstances behind this. Don't condemn a man unless you know EVERYTHING. It's easy to point fingers. Here's a novel idea...spend your time praying instead of condemning.

Could you please describe a circumstance that would justify a man murdering his eleven year old son?

I am closely related to some of the family and people should realize that there is family left behind that is having to deal with this tragedy minute by minute the best way they know how. This is something no one ever dreams of having to endure much less knows how to handle; please let this family grieve. They are suffering a tremendous loss that was beyond any of their control. Each one of them loved the deceased very much - BOTH of them!!!!! Your judgement is not needed nor desired. One question.... What's to say it won't be you and your family one day..... Then what????? Will you grieve, will you wish everyone will keep their judgements to themselves? Please let this family have their peace. We never know what tomorrow holds.

Did anyone stop to think the family had done every thing possible too help. Maybe he wouldnt except the help he needed. Maybe the family fought to get custody of Andrew but couldnt bc the hospital and timber hills both said Billy was better. How dare anyone blame his brother! You don't think Robert loved his brother and nephew and would have done anything to keep something like this from happening. yes, is was reported to dhs and yes he is a cop but that doesnt mean he makes the law and can do as he pleases. Instead of tearing down the ones who are hurting most right now, try praying for them!!

This isn't my business or yours it's the families. I'm sorry that this happened in this time when everything is so connected you aren't able to grieve alone as it should be. I'm sorry the media soaks in violence, difference and fear and releases it front page bold font. Sorry that the world around you in its sick, passive, twisted way is drawn in and even entertained by what is a very real event in your life. It's no one elses business and I'm sorry that the world is too damn blind to back off because they don't see how much their weight hurts an open wound.

Well the truth is a little boy is dead.. I saw on channel 3 news where DHS said they was never told of the stand off weeks before this happened...Farmington police chief was out of town when they wanted to question him.And as far as his family goes i will tell you one thing if my brother had held my nephew at gunpoint and threatened to kill him i be DAMNED if he would be placed back in his care a week later. Even if i had to go to jail myself for trying to protect him.. Someone let this child down and the truth will come out..

Thanks to the ALCORN COUNTRY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT - The baby went back to his dad. It was them who did not file a report on it. His family urged and pushed for charges to be filed on him. There is your truth. DHS didn't want to even help until the knew Andrew was in the hospital fighting for his life. When the system is so screwed up, it is the ones who try to help that get hurt. Think what you want, as I know you will. Doubt his family if it makes you feel better. But, please, DON'T believe everything the news tells you. Didn't they also tell you that Andrew's arrangements would be through Corinthian funeral home?? Not the truth. The news will tell you every negative thing they can because that is what makes people watch.

Thank you. I am the family. I knew exactly what happened with the "stand off" that the news says was 6 months ago.. They don't even know the story. It happened the week before school started in August. Billy voluntarily went to the hospital, therefore able to voluntarily check himself out. The doctors claimed it was his medicine that made him act the way he did that night. They gave him more meds and sent him home. For everyone who wants to think Billy was some fantastic person, let them do so. I, nor anyone else, can control how other people think. Its a shame that any of these people have let it run through their minds that my family didn't try to get that baby out of that house. I've had enough of the trash talking about my family though. Robert is an exceptional man. Yes, he is an officer. An officer at a completely different station. He had nothing to do with the officers not filing a report. It wasn't up to farmington either because they don't have investigators. The county attorney even told us that no judge would take Andrew away from his daddy because of the fact that no file was reported. And for the people who think "the truth will come out" You are ALL exactly right. And I hope you all realize the truth about your beloved law enforcment. And to you, whomever you are, Thank you for your statement. It's the first mostly true one I've read here. God Bless You.

Let me get this right there was a stand off 6 months ago in which Billy jr threatened to kill himself and his son and the Farmington police let him voluntarily check himself in to hospital??? Something don't sound right with that!!!!!!!!!!

Sure the whole bunch was out of town because they are cowards and would know anything to say about it! They didn't want to look like a fool to the world. Ill tell you one thing they know how to do and probably professionals at it. They can sure steal your hard earned tax dollars and put in their pockets! I blame nobody but the fools that live out there

This has to be one of the saddest things I've heard in a long time. I read his suicide note he posted on Facebook. My mind is haunted with what that child went through the moment he realized his daddy was going to shoot him.
The child was asleep !!!! But it was a terrible tragedy and the suicide note on Facebook by the time it was read it was to late!! Let this young boy rest in peace.

Billy was basically a good man who just had too many problems and was overwhelmed and saw no way out. It's a shame because so many people loved him and his son. May he and his son both rest in peace.
Good men don't kill their children. They protect them, love them, and make them feel secure and safe. It's easy to say he had problems and was overwhelmed, but he DID have choices. There are always choices and he chose a cowards way out. In doing so, he took the life of the one person who loved him unconditionally. There are no problems bad enough to condone murder. I feel no sorrow for him only for that child who had no choice in what happened to him. This whole tragedy could've been avoided if someone had paid attention. There are always signs when a person gets to the point of murder/suicide. Changes in personality, deep depression etc. Those close to him have a lot on their conscience, I'm sure. I certainly hope this opens the eyes of people in the community. Don't ignore the signs. This should never happen again in our town.

. I'm afraid your wrong, there are not always warning signs. Anybody who struggles with any form of mental instability/depression ect can go through many types of meds before finding one to help their problems. A lot of people have different reactions. Some are noticeable ASAP and some takes time. Everybody is different. The problem also is switching meds can be dangerous even doctors will tell you it confuses the human brain to where you can end up your worst enemy. Get your facts straight before posting some ignorant crap and pointing the finger. You people amuse me. Always know everything. God Bless this family. They tried. I only hope ridiculous posts such as yours do not burden them with guilt. You are a joke along with the rest of the know it all critics.

You're quite amusing too. If you don't want to read the opinions or expression of others on this matter, leave this site. No one makes you log on. Instead, why not use all this hostility you have to do something positive like advocate against crimes against children or changes in the department of child services. Do something besides hide behind your pc screen with your own ignorant rants.
