I know for a fact this is against the law .I lease a home and my landlord didn't like a person that I had at my house one day and call the law. They told her that as long as I had a lease and was breaking no laws that what I did at my home and who I had there was my business. That she was trespassing onto my property. I know they shouldn't be allowed to come into your home anytime they wish and take out things. I would get me a lawyer and not from Corinth.

agree with you. complete violation of the law. Renter has more rights than the home owner! Couldn't believe my eyes watching this video. Johnny Butler is a Fireman. Said Robert Williams is friends of Johnny Butler. Man violated in video signed pre-paid lease agreement in front of Robert Williams...verbal and written agreement.
Plus, under aged daughter was at home alone. Man should hire Phil Hinton to sue/legal against Johnny Butler. Man violated in video, is veteran and gulf war veteran. Mayberry taking the law into his own hands. Officer Lane Fowler is on paid leave, wtf???? Hire Attorney!

One night not too long ago I was gettin gas at the gas station by Rogers because my gas light had been on and I needed to get gas quick so I just stopped there and went in paid for my gas pumped the gas and got in my car and I was pulling out and out of nowhere a cop gets behind me and as soon as I pulled out he blue lighted me so I pulled over he came to my car got all my info ran my license checked my insurance and everything came back clear well after asking me a ton of questions he made me get out of my car and 2 more police officers showed up and they searched my car and kept asking me if I had any drugs in the car after telling them repeatedly no there wasn't anything illegal in there they kept harassing me as if I was lying to them. Finally after he never found anything he told me the reason he pulled me over is because a young white girl should not be in that part of town. Well last time I checked there was no certain part of town that whites were not allowed. I personally think that was very wrong I don't think it really should have took 3 cops to pull over and search one teenage girl. For no reason apparently! I think the city should hire new cops or do something about the ones they have! All they do is harass the young kids and not worry about all the drugs and other bad things that are happening!

I am the homeowner in this video.
I have NEVER lived in a town the size of Corinth, but the people have been, and are still, proving to be Amazing.
The response I have gotten directly to my email address on our website about this matter has been humbling.
I will post the police report to the site by tomorrow.
When you see that, and then compare it to the video and the facts of our lease, you will be STUNNED.
I was actually surprised today that the Corinth Police department would give me the falsified (by Fowlers and Johnny's statements to the detective 'investigating' my complaint) report they did, since the site was live with the audio and video facts Sunday morning.
The lies on the report are one more egregious action against my family, my property, and myself.
I am SO glad I recorded what I did, otherwise it would have been my word against these two city employees, and that would have been devastating to me to go through had I not had the proof I do.
I would ask that you keep passing this video around, and letting others see it.
And again, thank you for the support.
Good people make good towns, not the other way around.

falsifying reports is one thing that Corinth officers have been known for. Take Mike Shipman,the former officer Chip Timbes, Jamie Brewer,Pete Smith,and there are more that are an embarrassment to all police officers.The good ones get a bad image from the wrongs they do. You can trust Officer Boyd(Ten Speed) he is one of the few and honest ones.GO to Ashland and get one of their lawyers to take your case and sue the heck out of them.

Now, let me finally put some FACTS on here:(1) You, sir, are not the homeowner - you are renting the landlord's house (2) We are not required by the lease nor state law to give you notice before coming to OUR house, but we did give you more than 24 hours notice.(3) There is no reference in the lease to a washer, dryer, refrigerator, or appliances. There was a verbal agreement between my husband and your wife that we would let you use the washer/dryer until we needed it back, which would be a few months. If anyone wants to see a copy of the lease, please post your e-mail address on here and I will gladly send you a copy.(4) When we arrived, your daughter first asked that we wait outside because her sister was getting out of the shower, and we had no problem with that. She then said that you called and wanted us to wait until you got there to enter the house, and we did that as well. But of course, the reason you wanted us to wait until you got there is so you could perform your little dog and pony show and get the whole thing on video since you stepped out of your car with the video running.(5) We also know that you instructed your daughter to stay in her robe because what teenage girl, if she knows that someone is coming into the house, would willingly stay in a robe????(6) You filed a false claim that the officer came into your house, but it is clear on YOUR video and I can swear to the fact that he did not enter the house. Your other daughter was in the garage talking to him the entire time, and if she hasn't been "coached", hopefully she would tell the truth too.(7) We were perfectly okay with you not buying the house; you, sir, and your completely inappropriate texts forbidding us to come into OUR house is what started this whole mess (and we have printed copies of the entire text message string from the past week)(8) As owners of that house, we have every right to go onto the property or into the house, and we are supported by a valid lease and state law. in my opinion, after watching this video, the owners were in violation of Scott's legal rights as renter in Mississippi. When your in the cliche with City officials, you can bend the rules to fit your friends
(NEEDS)Butlers knew, both parents worked on Saturday.
Butlers should have set up proper time,then agreed on day to come to the house, while one or more parent were at home with the children. Mr. Butler bullying his way into the home taking photos, like the renters were criminals...plus adding fear and stress on his children! Right way, called legal way. Had that been me, you would be in legal battle!!! By the actions of the Butlers on camera, I understand, why Scott refused and exercised his rights, of refusal of purchasing the house. By the actions taken that day from the home owners, I can imagine how difficult they must have been as landlords! Scott get out and take legal action against them!

I dont know what you are talking about in the Atmore, Al. comment. Must have me mixed up with someone else. I seldom ever get on here and post. However, I have been through a lot with renters and I saw this is as an attempt to stir up trouble. The renter has problems with the landlord who had contacted him about coming to the house the day befoer. The renter had been texting for a week putting them off and staging this circus. Read the contract. The renter DOES NOT OWN the house and the landlord does have the right to go in the house. They gave him notice. He got his fifteen minutes of fame on youtube - hope he knows he will not rent from any reputable person in Corinth. You dont have a clue what landlords go through with most renters. I sold mine - got tired of dealing with idiots and yes i said idiots. Here is an original thought, since they do not want to be bothered with those pesky landlords, let them buy a house. Then they will not have to deal with them. God help the neighbors.

Landlords have rights so do renters. But this mater got way out of hand the police officer should have put a stop, and told Mr. Butler to go to civil court. This matter should have went to court and let judge decide the matter. The rights of the people renting the house were violated by Mr Butler and police officer. I have been through this several times I happen to own several rent house and yes they are for sale. Rent house business is a massive headache. Got to get a court order for dang just about everything you do when you rent out a house or lease one to someone.

Also I was just wondering, if all was well and you and tenant had agreement about washer and dryer, why did you need the cop to be present. Also the washer and dryer would seem to be in the utility room in carport from the video, then why did your husband need to come into home?

Did you not know that not only do the cops enforce the law here, they also "make" the law. Thats one of the problems, too many idiots in uniform ignorant of the law.

I apologize for thinking you were the individual that has mega aliases on topix, again, I apologize. I hear you about renters. I too, sold my real estate for this very reason. Rental property. You don't them, until they move in and then, every thing changes. Major problem with owning property and renters, etc.etc. My opinion, Butlers, were way off-base in the actions they imposed on my man and his family.They will have too, rely on the court system, to correct differences. Learning lesson for all!
