I hope that Alcorn County has some type of plan to keep the schools safe and secure. i hope also that the County Deputies and City Officers make it a point to randomly visit the schools and check on our children.

Not worth 2 cents if some nut case wants to kill! They will find some way to kill as many as possible. Just like the towel head Muslims

Im going to be upset this afternoon if I find out no Law Enforcement visited the schools today. maybe its not likely that anything will happen but atleast will give the kids and parents a little extra pease of mind. Deputies in the past have sat in the office with their feet propped up not going to hurt them to spend that 15 minutes to walk through the schools hallways.

The schools do have a plan in place for this type of threat. It may not be fool proof, but they have taken the steps to training staff and implementing a plan.

The city police make frequent checks on all schools throughout the day. They have been doing so for quite some time. If I had a say I'd raise my taxes to keep a armed officer in the school all day. It's sad we live in a world like this.

you mispelled part of your main point. Makes your entire point invalid. However, I would like to see if you can find your spelling error!

When Jesus wanted to start His ministry, He went to the great schools to get the smartest men right?
No He grabbed a few ole fishermen. Unlearned men.

Letting cops drive through a parking lot may help, but like I said on another post, if the two ladies that were shot first, had been armed then it may have ended then and there.

Guns kill people who kill people with guns.

I do feel they will try and banned guns that hold many rounds of shells.
I'm nor against that, since the public can't own automatic weapons, or handgrenades now.
noone needs a gun that holds 30 rounds, but it could be a slippery slope to their main goal, to take away all guns.

The very people who say they want to do away with all guns, would be very thankfull, if they ever found themself in a room where a person was picking them off one by one, if another person has a gun, and ends the deal.

If we trained one person"principles, or whomever ",then schools would be much safer, and people that have given themselves over to satan completly would think twice about going into gunless building.

When did this coward kill himself?
When men and women WITH GUNS showed up.

It's hard for the county to patrol all of the county campus. Maybe if the took some assistant principals jobs away and closed glen and Rienzi you could hire full time officers at all campuses

I know that there's no way the deputies can be there all the time but believe it or not they do have enough down time is o spend 20 minutes a day a take a walk through the schools. Usually 2 deputies yo a shift 1 go to central one to kossuth then one or both go to biggersville. City officers can handle city schools. No, its not full time protection. But its a start. If they do this at random times during the day, it might discourage a shooter not knowing when Officers might pop in. Some is better than nothing.

Parking permits do prevent unwanted visitors from being allowed on campus. You must be a disgruntled student posting during class. Get ready if you go to college, parking permits are a must and you will be ticketed for not having one. Violence at school is not a joking matter!

yep went by today and over 20 cars hard absolutly nothing on them! This is the biggest joke ever, Parking permits at a school where 10 doors are open all day! You must be the idiot that came up with that! I bet you are useing the money to have a big ole christmas party with head! This school has become the laughing stock of alcorn county! Yep and at college you have to pay tuition also! In high school our taxes are paying for school and parking permits! Folks this is a joke. Someone needs to be fired that came up with this crap! We don't have money for books but we can now finger print and monitor parking lots! What are the camera's for? you lazy office workers can sit on your ass and watch the parking lot. What about doing your jobs and we wouldn't need parking permits!

The board of supervisors can hire who and as many as they want anytime they want. Don't have to close anything. After all we are the ones that pay for them. Don't seem to have any problems spending millions on any thing else they want

Actually I am NOT the "idiot" as you called them who came up with this idea. What do they charge like $3? I am just a parent who does not even have a kid old enough to drive to school. I will say though the entrance and exit through the school has been greatly improved over the last couple of years. I have experienced road rage trying to get into that school in the past and also trying to get to my job on time. But I will say this there are a lot of parents, maybe you are one of them, that tell their kid they don't have to abide by the rules that the school sets forth. Very different from my parents. If you were given rules at schools you had to abide by
them or suffer the consequences at home and at school. If we had more parents that supported the rules of the school then we would have less defiance from kids and possibly less "idiots" trying to beat the system

They have to do that. It is bad enough when the kids are there but when their parents show up you have to have law enforcement to try and keep those nut cases in order.

I think all classrooms should have a lock on the doors and should remain locked from the time the bell rings in the mornings until they leave the classroom and return. Also the principals should be allowed to have a weapon in their office, should something bad happen.

Why not, since we pay them anyway, have a member of the National Guard stand post at all school campuses.
