From what I have heard from his AAU coaches he is already getting letters and is just in the 10th grade. I know that he is not playing right now till Christmas and will be a big help when he gets back.

Marcus Moore, Carlos Toomer, Steve Davis, those bring back some awesome memories and I went to Central lol. Who was the other good one that was not very tall and was kinda thick that could shoot the 3ball from anywhere? I believe he played the same time Ron Patterson did, which was another great one.
Billy Patterson mane!

That is true Luke Kiddy is the best player on the football team but John Wiley is an athlete. That is what will make him better over all.

John Wiley has got his head back on his shoulders. Everyone messes up big or small they are still mess ups. He has straightened out from what I've seen of him since he has been back to school but anyways he is a better athlete over all

He played at Ole Miss and then transfered to a DII school in the early 90's. Don't know where he is today though.
Davis is the football coach here, at plantation high school, in south Florida.

One to watch for: Colby Cox-7th grade girl; starts on basketball team; great pitcher and catcher-can play any position on either sport...also heard she's an up and coming volleyball player. Wonder if she plays football too?

Alcorn central back in the late 80's:
"slopbucket" dewayne Snyder.
Anyone remember him?
He got stabbed at "thurston's" over his wife Tammy who used to play ball too.
Sad deal but he was a good guy & play basketball like hell!

I agree but I'm talking about the kids that are still in jr high and just breaking in to high school ball there have been plenty of players who could bring it the past 25 years way too many to name and some of these kids could get there but no time soon

It was Vicky Hughes who's high jump record held strong for over 25 years in MS that was just broke 2 yrs ago. she is the mother of Nick Coln; the only 1 LP couldn't out run on the track! Nick probably still holds the 3 point per game avg. Then was his younger cousin Cody Hughes. This boy could not B touched on the court and would knock u off your feet on the feild. He liked 2 party and dropped out of school but could have went anywhere he wanted! Sad waste of talent. I've heard he has twin boys, maybe they will b the future TOPIC of this forum. Only time will tell!!!!

nahh.. Too cocky and doesn't pass the ball as much as he needs too. He'll miss 5 three pointers and keep shooting them instead of going in closer. He has assists only because of the other player and their abilities. He'll have 1 great season (this year) and an okay year next season. He could improve, but won't be anywhere close to one of the best out of the county.

Steve Davis---Class of 1965--he could do it all in any sport. RIP Steve.
Steve was indeed a great quarterback and accepted a scholarship to State. He was also being recruited by Alabama for football and by Kentucky for basketball. He could throw a football 70 yards in he air and hit baskets like it was automatic. I may be partial since I am related, but he was one of the best athletes I have ever seen anywhere!! His cousin in Birmingham, AL
