That's funny. It's impossible to get a straight answer on this website. But that is funny.

On the contrary, I hear there is some interest in this job. Here a name close to the school that is really interested. Would like to see more people in the community showing interest in this hire.

The coach here has to work with limited talent and endure the harassment and expectations. Doubt they will be lining up to fight for the job.

I think to say limited talent would be unfair. I am sure the talent is there, but the participation level is low.

I agree with the pee wee program. I also think that more boys would have an interest in playing if there were some encouragement. Even the boys who want to play are discouraged from it. They are told it's a waste of time. In my opinion, ALL of the sports need attention, not just one. With the kids that are coming up in the middle school, Central has such potential in all areas of sports. Let's get behind these kids and encourage them rather than knock them down. If nothing else, they need to have something to pass the time other than xbox and texting on their cell phones. Let's raise a different generation of children, they are our future!!

You are exactly right, and that's exactly what a good man and a few involved fathers have done. They started a 5th and 6th grade program with 24 kids that don't want to be losers in a few years. We also had a couple 7th graders that played to help us be more competitive. Thank everyone that was involved with this wonderful outpouring of love for our boys!!

the middle school programs need to be eliminated. then this entire area needs to start a popwarner chapter. http://www.popwarner.com/football/footballstr... it is a great organization. that way when these kids get into high school the area high schools are a lot more competitive. if you have the area towns join you will have a complete league. corinth, central, burnsville, iuka, and tishomingo with each team playing each other twice it is a 10 game season. i have thought of this for a long time. i commend acyfl for what they have done. it is a great league. i would never down play there effort and care for the youth in our communities.

I'm just wondering when the parents are going to start taking some responsibility for this trend. I applaud the guys who started the pee-wee program. I'm trying to figure out why 5th and 6th graders don't play in the ACYFL. There are other schools in the area who don't offer pee-wee programs and they don't seem to have the problems AC has. I remember the Harbour twins playing in the ACYFL and they are pretty good players. Why can't other parents sign their kids up to play so they will have a clue in middle school and the coaches want have to babysit and start teaching from ground zero? Just a question.
Central has a 5th and 6th grade team that have played for the last 2 years trust me Central will be very competitive in football very soon 7th and 8th teams are also very talented

I hate to burst your bubble but 8 of the senior football player this year also started out playing in the 5th and 6th grade with the same volunteer parent coaching. They had wonderful seasons in the 7th and 8th grade. Everyone always said, they couldn't wait till their senior year,we would have a winning team. Well, guess what, it didn't happen. Those guys went through 4 coaches before their senior year. all those coaches had different coaching styles and experiences, the team that played in 7th and 8th grade dwindled down from 25 to the 8 seniors left. The kids that ran the ball and scored touchdowns all during middle school, only occasionally got to run the ball in high school, never even touched the ball his senior year. The point I am trying to make is that, yes it is wonderful that these Dads are working with guys in 5th and 6th grade, they are learning so much, but unless there is a head coach who is in charge of the football program from 5th grade up so that the kids will be taught consistently and everyone is on the same page, it will not happen. A wonderful season in middle school football is not a great indicator of sucess in high school football. all the dyanamics, strength, abiltity,mo vitation, displine and determination completely change when you step on that varsity field. I really hope that the younger guys are able to pull off a winning season but it will take hard work, consistent and qualified coaching staff, dedication, dtermination and displine from all the guys, not just 5 or 6 good players.

No offense, but I have a nephew who plays for one of the area middle schools and I saw all the middle schools play and no one in the county Central included even competed with Corinth's 7th or 8th grade teams and the 7th grade was supposed to be down this year. Those games were a joke. They don't have pee-wee football, most of their players come from ACYFL where players from Kossuth, Booneville, and other towns play. How do you explain that?
Corinth is a 4a school now headed to 5a very soon talent pool is alot bigger and most of those kids at Corinth don't make it to graduation anyway
