It is my understanding that the qualifications of a bishop, is the same as a pastor. As far as preaching, I believe any of Gods children can preach, but being a pastor is a whole other thing.

I Personally believe when it says husband of one wife it was talking about polygamy, as being one thing that would disqualify a man, yet there are also other things that can as well.

I was just trying to show how, if a lost mans wife leaves him, and several years later, he gets saved "born again saved ",then he is a new creature.

Idk if I agree with all this. I know a man who gives to the poor, not only money, but has actually given them homes. I mean, signed a deed over to them. He helps anyone who is in need. He's kind and considerate. He's a true example of goodness, but, due to health problems, he can not attend church. He has COPD and feels like he suffocates when in a crowd, plus he can hardly walk anymore. Then, I know a man who is in church every time the doors are open, but cheats people out of their money, lies to make a sale, and is just a rude and hateful person. Which one do you believe will live eternity with the Lord? I'm sorry, but I think what a person does Monday-Saturday is more important then what they do from 9-12 on Sunday.

i think there has been a big misunderstanding on what i am trying to say and if i am wrong God knows and i apologize i beleive we should assemble together to worship God i understand people in nursing homes to say cant make but i dont agree with someone who never goes that is able and says they dont need a pastor that never gathers anywhere to worship God

I truly believe one is added to Christ church, when they are saved "born again saved ",and the we christians go to church as we know it. We go to church to learn and grow as christians, we should be getting equiped to do the work of the ministry.

Church attendance is for our benefit, and I not only believe a christian should go, but they should want to go, and if they don't want to go, then they need to reconnect with their Heavenly Father, mon -sat.

As I've stated before, I was saved at my home. It was exactly 1:30 am when God, or the Holy spirit of God woke me up. After struggling with Him for a while and many miraculous things happening, I yeilded to this God, that for years I said I did not believe in. I didn't know that I was saved that night. I just knew something huge had happened in my life.

See that is where we are different. We should gather to have the Lord's Supper and sometimes speaking, teach children more at home and the church should take the message out in the street to the drug addicts and sinners. Instead Jesus is kept locked up in buildings and the responsibility is put on sinners to come to them. Jesus said Go. It is good for believers to gather and to minister to the needs of the flock through out the week. What happens is they spend all their time at their buildings, when they should spend ninety percent out looking to help sinners. If the church really wanted to see growth this is how they would operate. It is too much of a social gathering now and not enough of a misson organization. Now, they will go to some foreign country and do for strangers what they will not do for their neighbors. I guess this gives them some feeling of importance or taking the message to all the world. If members would work in their neighborhood properly it would spread to the whole world again as it did in the first century.
Perfectly stated. I've preached this for years on deaf ears, if we as the church would just be a witness on our job, at the grocery store or anywhere we are what a difference it would be.

Two of the best salvation experiences i ever got to witness was in two different mens homes " at different times in my life" with neither of the men knowing anything about church but God had been after them for a long time. Watching a man get saved at his house that hasn't been exposed to all of the church traditions is the best thing you can ever experience. He doesn't know anything about repeating a prayer or shaking a preachers hand, but when u see an old drunk of 56 years shout all over his house and thank God for saving his wretched soul it just does something to you.

Yes! It does!:)
I was in one big mess at the time I was saved, and I've been in a few SINCE I got saved, but I have found, that the one that saved me is the Same One that keeps me.

I know what its like to "want " a certain formula that one can follow to be saved, and there is, but none like we think. Lol

It just takes a sinner, under Gods Holy conviction, that will simply agree with God, and want God to Help them.

It happens different ways for different people, that way God gets the Glory and not man.

I mean God WOKE ME UP FROM SLEEP. Lol

I DID NOT WAKE MYSELF UP, AND DECIDE TO "SEEK " GOD.
That alone will preach!

I've been blessed to get to be a part of someone getting saved, but it was All God, for without Him, it would have never happened.

I also watched one time, as a well meaning preacher did everything BUT beat the sinners prayer out of a lady, only to tell her she was now saved forever.

I was a baby christian, but knew this wasn't right.

She was looking at me, like a deer in the headlights. She didn't know how to read or write, but thank God she began to hurt one day so bad, that her mom called the ER, and they came and got her. She had never been to the doctor before and was afraid.
The doctors didn't know what was wrong, but told her mom that she was dying, and thet would do all they could.
she told me the pain was so bad, that she layed in the floor by her hospital bed and was just crying. She said she had never had pain like this before in her life. She also said, that she could remember one of us telling her, that Jesus helps those who are in need.

She cried out to Jesus to help her. She said the pain left her instantly, and she started to walk out of the hospital. Of course the doctors didn't want her to, but she did.
She told me this Two weeks after what had happened.
She started telling me how her and her husband drank booze everyday for over 25 years, and that they would fight and cuss all the time.

She said, do you know every since that day I don't drank no more, and if I do say a cuss word I really feel bad. Lol

This is a great example of a simple minded person, who met a Holy God and was forever saved, even though she only knew something big had happened to her.

I've heard countless stories about people getting saved, plus my own unique story, makes me understand that salvation is not one of many many things, a person must go through to become rightous in Gods eyes, it is what makes a person right in Gods eyes.

When one is saved, they are saved.
Enjoyed you telling about the men!

What would you have done if God woke you up and saved you into a totally different faith from your wife? I find it interesting that he just so happened to save you into her faith.

I see you have posted this in Facebook too, I know the man you are talking about very well.and yes he has his share of sins....as do you and me. The time you have spent bashing this man you could have spent caring and loving this child. He is a good man and helps lots of people, I have seen him give his last dime to someone who "needed" it more than him while he went without. Instead of telling us how awful this man is, how about starting your own fund raiser to raise the money or putting together benefits, do something positive and take actions in your own hands. God never let's a good deed go unnoticed.

If your scripture was not limited you would know that all it takes is believing with all your heart that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and died for your sins and letting him in your heart...God will take care of the rest. Even good christian people can be pulled down, the devil is not prejudice and the stronger Christian you are the hard the hits. True, but what is more fascinating, is how God woke me up, and saved me somewhere between 1:30 and 3 am, but better then that, my wife and I SEPERATED, at 6 am, when I woke up, and left. I moved in with a friend of mine "who was not a christian ", and I was still gone when I realized what had happened to me.

I still remember the day, I walked around his house with a strong desire to read a bible.

My tesramony is very odd, but just shows who God is, and what He can do.

I've looked at this from all angles, and they all point to Jesus Christ.

What about those who are baptized in the name of the Father, The Son, And the Holy Ghost?

I've seen your testimony, and seen you were saved in a pentacostal church, if I remember right, so I understand that their teachings will have an impact on you.

Can you tell me how long ago it was, when you recieved Jesus as your Lord and savior ?

think of it like this if you go to walmart and your son gets lost he would probably go to the front to ask for help to find you and they said who and he replied with father, or son nobody would know who he is calling for but if he said gtown71 u would know that is your NAME and everytime baptism was mentioned in the book of acts it said they baptized in Jesus name or the name of the lord which is Jesus

i just personally beleive in Jesus name baptism cause there is no other name given under heaven among which men might be saved i beleive in telling people what i feel God has given me however they must let him open their eyes and i have to tell the truth according to Gods word with love and compassion not bash them out cause they may have a different opinion

Yes I agree, we should speak the truth in love.
I've been guilty of speaking the truth, but just not very loving. Lol

Many disagree with me on my stance, and with you as well, but it really doesn't matter what anyone thinks but God.

My wife had a friend that was rebaptized in Jesus name, just to make sure. If that is what she felt like she needed to do, then she needed to do it.

Having the proper fear of the Lord, and respect for the Grace that only He can give, is about as good as it gets.

We "as a whole" have lost the fear of the Lord.

I am thankful I was saved at home, and didn't even know what happened to me for two months, but when a guy goes from wanting absolutely nothing to do with Christians or God,to not being able to stop talking about, or thinking about God every single day, is a Huge change, and can only come from God. I'll never forget the night I was saved "and don't think anyone who has been saved can ",and I also remember all the times I let Him down, but He has never left me, nor forsaken me.

To walk in the Light as He is in the Light, is my goal forever.

It was a huge shock as well, after I was saved, to find out that there are so many different denominations and bible versions about God, but as I think about it, if satan was real "and he is ",then he would attack us any way he can.
