I work there and we do everything but a cash register they close them down at 11:30 they make us zone the store pick up thousands of items customers decide they don't won't and just sit around n then we have to put them all up we put all the candy n batteries n items that r on registers out the manager makes us run them me myself I do not like self checks n people r very rude to us cashiers for running them we only do what we are told and we will check u out on them so u don't have to do anything but stand there! The customer service manager is really rude to the cashiers and some customers but I can assure u none of the cashiers like the self checks

Dont complain about your job. Regardless of how the csm is, you get paid to do what you do. If you aint happy with it then sit down an give someone else who wants a job a chance. Dang. Freaking morons.

I also am sick of the self checkout lanes at Wal-Mart. I hate them. If I go in there one more time and have to self check-out i will not go back. It's not like this down at the Booneville Store.

I couldn't agree with you more. The Booneville Supercenter is much nicer, newer, & better. I am going to start going down there on Saturdays to grocery shop instead of going to the Corinth Supercenter. Corinth's Wally World has been messed up since the day it was opened. Everything from the Parking Lot to the Store on the inside has always been F*cked up!

If I wanted to check myself out I'd apply for a job there. I can't help but feel old Sam's somewhere laughing, not only is he taking our money but were saving him having to pay a worker to check us out. The jokes on us.

Go to service desk and let them check you out. Or ask an employee to. If they say no be ready to walk away.

I'm not complaining I love my job but don't love the fact that we have customers asking us why we have these open and cussing us out! We do as we are told and just because I said our csm is rude doesn't mean I'm complaining about my job jerk I love my job and my co workers so understand what my post is saying before assuming I don't like my job because I love it just explaining to these curious customers as to why us cashiers arenot rrunning a register

If you self check then you are basically doing the work and not getting paid for it. But... You are willingly doing this if you choose to use the self checkout. What really gets under my skin is going through a regular checkout lane and the cashier whirling the round bag holder around for me to put my own bags into the buggy! Hello! This has always been considered part of the cashiers job. If Walmart had drastically cut their prices then I wouldn't mind helping with my own bagged items but just as with self checkouts, they are getting free labor from the customers. Don't get me wrong... There are some cashiers that will put the bags in the buggy. If they make an attempt to do that, then I will grab the bags on my side of the holder n put them in the buggy. To those who bag the items and just look at me like"we'll, aren't you going to put these bags in ur buggy sp I can have more room" it will be a cold day in h#%* b4 I do ur job for you, unless your giving me a portion of your paycheck for doing YOUR job!!!

I think if we use self checkout we should get a discount. WM is going to cut out employees, I don't know why I shouldn't get compensated. IF I shopped there.

Now that I think about it I agree with OP and the other people on here. I wouldn't single out Wal Mart though. Take gas stations for example. Those lazy people working inside can take my hard earned money all day long for my gas but I gotta stand outside and pump the gas myself??? F*ck that!! Get outside and pump my gas that I'm paying over $3 a gallon for or I demand a discount for having to put it in my vehicle all by myself.
And restaraunts? Don't get me started. I spent half an hour getting ready at the house, I'm spending WAY too much money on your overpriced food, and when you bring it to my table I gotta waste half of my entire eating experience cutting the food up into bit-sized pieces??? F*ck that! If I gotta pay all that money on your food then bring it to my table ready to eat or I want a discount for the possible Carpal Tunnel Syndrome I am inflicting on mysef by cutting up my food.
That is all
