Apparently, Gina Smith is no different than all the previous folks in her position. I wish I hadn't wasted my vote! I thought she would at least do the right thing when teachers got caught messing with kids, but guess not. Voters, Keep voting changes until we get the right one in, maybe we will get a good one in.

I agree, but until she has rock solid proof, her hands were tied. I'm also curious to see how this ordeal with the 2nd grade child turns out. If this is true, and the lady has a witness, that teacher's actions was nothing short of child abuse. Then, to be allowed by the principal, to holler and scream at the mother, is very unprofessional for both the teacher and principal!! Im wondering if the saying " the guilty dog barks the loudest" applies. Anyway, Mrs Smith has definately been thrown into her new position head first. I think the way she handled the 1st situation and the present situation may determine whether or not she'll be reelected.

Gina will do what is right. If everyone presents each case honestly then the decision will be made for her.

What are you talking about? I know a teacher was recently asked to resign and did. That teacher is no longer teaching in the school district.

The teacher you are talking about should have been fired not asked to resign! She shouldn't get special treatment because of who she is. By allowing child molesters to resign Gina and the Board allowed the door to be open for her to do the same thing in another school.

You are so right, only in Alcorn County does this kind of crap happen. This is one of the reasons we moved our children to Corinth.
If this had happened in Tupelo or Memphis there would have been an arrest and we would have seen her on the news. Just like all the male teachers that have fooled around with girl students, it has been going on for years and looks like it will continue. SUCH A SAD SITUATION!!

Again I say she shouldn't have been allowed to resign.

Did you send the information to the state? If not you don't know what was and/or wasn't done. But, let me say this, if it wasn't send to the state charges can be brought up on more than just the person commiting the crime. If you don't believe me check out what is being done right now to the dauhgter (teacher) and mother (principal) in Ohio. The daughter who also is a cheerleader for the Cleveland Browns had relations with a senior boy and her mother who is the principal where she taught tried to cover it up and they both are in jail.

I feel sur she is not gonna let that child be humiliated like that and let the adults think that just beause they are adults they can get away with it like they did my children before she took office and she gave me her word this type of thing would not happen anylonger! YOUR WORD is ALL you have Mrs. Smith show them you keep your word!
