Going to Keavy by the way of 312 and your friends telling you that this will be backed up with water soon.
Knowing the only good jewelry store was Distads.
Stopping by Eaton and Gibbs to see that Luther was still driving his jeep and Bobby was wondering what you had up your sleeve besides your arm.
Going in Littons Grocery to have pop.
Having Baldy McNeil do a safety inspection on your car(at the Gulf)a new law that didn't last.
I worked for Baldy ... lets see there was Chip Morgan, Kelvin Morgan (sometimes) Curt Owens, Otis Reeder, Baldy's son David, Ron Cooper. When things were slow at the station Baldy would make a trip up the street to Dave Huff's for coffee ... most times, very soon after we would be covered up with work.

Anyone remember the Old Wing Drive In & the Hungry Hound?
Yep, the Wing was across the street from Owens. Part of the building is still there. Someone removed the wing and then added a second story.
The Hungry Hound was owned by Ben and Flossie Eubanks (mom & dad of Bo). They also owned the Lunch Queen on Main Street where the FAD use to be. Later Flossie ran Sanders beforeit was bought by the restaurant chain.

Yeah I think I posted that way back at the beginning. It was beside the Convenient store down from the root beer stand. Now they sell motorcycles and four wheelers out of the old Convenient building, it's right past the new Corbin High School on the left and the putt putt was right beside it. If that is the one you're thinking of.
Yeah that's right and I think there was a dry cleaners by it too. That was it . Your right I am glad someone remember that one too. I went there

The little grocery store on Fifth Street below Central Elementary was Hammons Grocery. We stopped there every afternoon after school and got redhots to eat on the way home. Those were the fun days. Children could actually get out and walk wherever they wanted to go without a worry in the world.
