So many people enjoyed those days and having the downtown experience that we miss so much. I wonder why we pushed everything out causing so many businesses to move or fail? If we only had it to do over.

MOO MOO Hut. Had many a good chocolate bananna milkshakes there. Great softserve. I remember shopping downtown right before school would start, sidewalk sales and new shoes from Daniels. And of course a hot dog from the Dixie. I wish my kids could have such found memories of this town.

Yes, I used to love to go there and get Brownie drinks (like Yahoo) and penny chocolate footballs. I can't remember the owner's name, but he died and that is why the store closed. Lester Root opened it for awhile, but it soon went out.
Also across the street from there, on the corner of South Main and 22nd (I think) they had a little store there for a good while. I grew up in the South Main area. At one time it was refered to as "Billy Town" (I have no idea why--anyone?)but we in the area affectionatly called it "William Village"!! HAHA

They put towels on their heads so no one would know who9 they were.(What a joke)
It would start at school, you would hear these rumors, "I heard the streakers are going to be at Hardee's tonight". By the time it was dark, all of Corbin would be in the parking lot of whatever place. Yes, they were nude.
I heard Burley say one time he really regretted that, that he would have to live with that the rest of his life because people would never forget. It is true and now his children are living with that also.
Now that s funny

We lived way out in the country (3 miles when you are driving and 10 miles when you were walking)
We used to walk to town every Saturday to go see a movie at the Viv theatre, you could get in for a dime, buy popcorn 5 cents, candy bar 5 cents and a coke 5 cents. That quarter was very hard to come by back then. Normally had a good western,a serial movie, new reel and cartoons..
Used to get a burger at the Krystal Kitchen for five cents. Kinda like the Whitecastle today.

I loved the Saturday cartoons. Remember having to tune in the antenna one person to watch the TV.,one to tell one which way to turn it then the person turning it.lol...that was a team effort! Don't forget the gravel dusty roads...
