i've known coach hart and his family for years...i have nothing but good memories of them, they are a great family and would help anyone...no matter what you do, how good you are, how much you contribute to the community, how many lives you affect in a positive way...there will always be someone out there who will try to bring you down...keep your head up coach hart...you are a good person and the truth will always come out.

And what's done in the dark will be shown in the light. The girls really did it in the dark and it was shown.

The truth is these young ladies were the victims of a drug and sex scandal cover up by the school board. Instead of coming clean. They should sue

Was the coach in no way responsible for the safety of his team? It's like it is all the fault of the girls. Parents must have some level of confidence when their kid boards a school bus that someone will be in charge and responsible for what goes on. Hart was the person in charge and was the chaperon who failed in his duties to protect those kids. McNeels actions reek of a cover up. Get rid the whole damn bunch!

Chris should man up and resign as coach. Corbin softball is about three things. Him, one particular player and the record book. He could care less about what happened to those kids in FL.

So the person in charge, an employee of the school, who leaves town with a bus load of kids has no responsibility? If that's the case, should a parent ever let their child board a school bus for any trip at all? Hell man parents have to have some level of confidence in the school and it's employees to protect and provide for the safety of our kids who we entrust to them.

if you want "the real truth" look under the rug in ed's office where it was swept and hidden away.

I know what happened and you all need to please remember that these are minors who are more than paying for their actions. They made some extremely bad decisions in a very lax, unsupervised climate fueled by alcohol, peer pressure, and influential 19 year old males. There were no drugs involved. Many of the girls are reading or hearing some of the very cruel comments being made about them in social media. How can they possibly learn and heal from this experience if people continue to be as hostile and combative as Mr. Keith Wilson? Please watch what you say. Noone I know is putting the blame on Coach Hart and the girls I know have taken responsibility for their actions and are trying to move forward. As for all of the parent bashing, you have no idea who these people are and what these families have gone through and the measures that were taken upon returning from Florida. None of these families encouraged or condoned the behavior of their daughters. Kids do stupid things at this age and anyone can make a mistake. Let's put this to rest, please.

This would all be behind us and put to bed, no pun intended, if the coach had been disciplined accordingly for his failure to protect his players from harm. Why should these kids suffer so much for their immature behavior and the coach who was responsible for them get a pass for his dereliction of duty to protect them?

Please don't misunderstand me. I'm not on the "Keep the Hart in Corbin Softball" bandwagon for reasons of my own. I don't know him personally, but watching him over the years as a coach has made my skin crawl. Was this trip planned properly by the coaching staff and this incident handled appropriately by the school board? Not at all. Should measures be taken to make sure this doesn't happen again? Absolutely, and I'm sure the lack of supervision will be addressed. But, what's right is right and what's fair is fair. Just as the parents, I'm sure, had no clue that their daughters would do something like this, Coach Hart probably had no idea his players would do something like this. How do you remedy a situation if you don't know about it until you get back? Unfortunately, now that there is a precedent, I'm sure measures will be taken to make sure something like this doesn't happen again. It's an unfortunate situation from which many people, most of all the girls involved, have to learn from. Shifting all of the blame to one party whether it be the girls, the parents, the coach, or the administration serves no purpose.
wrong message

Winchester, KY

initial comments from the superintendent was what happened on the trip was "unacceptable". then a couple days later all is swept under the rug. so what caused a situation labeled "unacceptable" to sudddenly become acceptable? even if some of the blame is with the girls the failure of a coach to protect his team on a school sponsored trip is troubling. a precedent is now set that a corbin coach's failure to provide a safe and secure environment for athletes on trips will go unpunished. will your kids be safe on corbin school sponsored trips in the future? i think not because of the superintendents failure in this situation. there has been a serious breech of responsibility on the part of the coach and the superintendent of the school has been a complete failure in handling this situation. the school has sent the wrong message to all students and parents because the school employ who must be held accountable to the students, athletes and parents; obviously will not be.
