I have been a patient for several years and she is a very competent and thorough doctor. If you want quality healthcare with a doctor who will spend as much time as is needed with you then GO TO HER.

Was she laughing when she found out about the person who was writing all the scripts to herself and family and friends for a couple of years? The pharmacies in this area filled more for them than any in the state during that time, that's what I heard. Is this true?

Lol yeah her name was Tonya. How ignorant could Dr be to not notice what was going on??? And I've known a few of her past employees as well. They all say she's hateful and her employees are [email protected] And as far as her workinghard for what she has she came from an extremely wealthy family in her home country. And dogs in a Dr office is just plain nasty. I can just see someone having to have something drained and dog hair flying everywhere. I heard she had pee pads in the office for one of the dogs. That's just plain sick.

I love the dogs in her office, she takes them to the nursing home too, it is supposed to be therapeutic for sick patient's. There is only one that is extremely hateful in her office in the back.

Not that I care about this doctor or anything, but a dog in a doctor's office is really disturbing. I can see where a dog would be therapeutic, but it is also nasty as well. The thought of all the hair flying around it sickening. And kids are the not the only ones scared of dogs.....my mother in law is extremely weary of dogs because she was attached by a small breed dog when she was a toddler. And so many people are allergic to them as well. Its really just unsanitary. I would have issues with it.

I worked for her when she was in Gray. She was horrible to the employees there too. She would say they were stupid and everything. Not how a professional such as herself should act. And she treated Dr. Acob like a little B****. She would tell him what he could eat and spend and probably wear. I was never so happy to get away from there. I've heard stories on her ever since I left there too. So sounds like she's kept her ways. And yeah she does "buy" her employees off by taking them on trips and outings. But no one should have to work for someone so unappreciative. Sorry Dr. Atienza but money can't buy you as many friends as you think.

There will always be people who bad mouth others on topix because they are annonymous. Dr Atienza is a fantastic doctor. I have been seeing her since moving to KY 10 years ago. She will get to the root of the problem no matter how long it takes or she will refer you to a specialist. And yes, she is cautious when writing prescriptions, as well she should considering the area and problems with pills in Corbin and surrounding towns. As for the dogs, well, if you don't like them, then ask the staff to make sure the dog isn't with the doctor when she see's you. I mean grow up, how hard would that be? I for one would like to thank Dr. Atienza for all the hard work and dedication she has given over the years. Her staff also, they are amazing.

So let me see...
I go to the doctor and ask her to remove the dog from the room (a dog that has No business being in her office anyway). Am I supposed to also assume that someone is going to come in before the doctor does anything and clean the room thoroughly from where the dog has been in there countless times before? What if I'm highly allergic? Will the dog hair laying in there from the dog not make my nose run and my eyes water? Sorry but that is just a mess all the way around.

Simple solution: Don';t go to her if you don't like dogs. There are PLENTY of doctors and she has plenty of patients so she won't be offended if YOU don't come. I don't care what she is like to Dr Acob or in other situation as long as she is a competent physician who looks out for my health care issues the best. Grow up. The choice is yours.

I am way more concerned about the germs from the people seeing the doctor than the germs from the dogs. At least the dogs are down on the floor. Way better than people that don't know how to cover their mouth when they cough.
