If the coach has a dress code than kids should follow it. Just like in the middle school when they had a dress code. I told my kids you must follow the rules. Its not that hard to understand. I think he said the colors are red, white and gray. The players can wear these colors. We are a team. Its plain and simple. I support the coach and his rules.

I support rules and dress codes. I don't support disregard for rules nor do I support ignorance. I cannot support what this coaching staff has done to our football program. It's not about colors and boobs. That's just the tip of iceberg.

Support Jewell or not, I don't think he will be there after this..(see Coach Dave Mitchell/Lynn Camp) there is already talks of Dudley Hilton being the coach next year. So I think this will do Coach Jewell in.

He thinks he is god I can't wait to see him gone the program has went down hill so much in the past years. Bad when you run the Hoovers off and so many other good players. Maybe he can go to Kentucky and help joker out.

I give him my full support. Kids and parents are way out of control. What will he do when he gets to college? Goes to work? Our kids today do not know discipline

The thing is: there was no specific dress code in relations to gloves. WLEX even showed multiple players with various glove combination. Coach Jewell is a little bitch that probably just wanted to take his frustration out of the kid after getting waxed 34-0. #realtalk

There is a time to enforce rules and then there is a time to let your humanity show. The thoughtfulness this player showed in promoting awareness for a disease from which he has a very small chance of ever suffering should have been applauded, not punished.

If Jewell wanted to keep the kid from playing with the pink gloves, he should have stopped him before the kid played his first down. He could have had the boy put on a different pair of gloves and if the kid's other gloves were not available, I'm sure somebody on the sidelines (a freshman who probably wouldn't see any action that night) would have loaned him a pair.

This problem was easily avoidable and would have been noticed and handled early on in the game if the head coach wasn't busy watching his son rack up a whopping 74 yards.

By waiting until after the game to say anything to the kid, Jewell pretty much said, "I saw you do this for 4 quarters and did nothing about it. Now that the game is over, I'm going to call you out in front of the whole team."

As Fat Albert would say, "Steve Jewell, you like school in summertime... NO CLASS."

I wonder which of his relatives started this thread anyways.

As a former Redhound I am in full support of Coach Jewell. Yes I agree that the news (of which only gives ONE side to the story) showed different kids wearing different gloves. It should be noted the gloves were SCHOOL COLORS!! NOT PINK!

If the gloves were orange or purple, this wouldn't even be an issue. The community would have rallied and said "sure, he should sit out for breaking rules". HOWEVER, since this was breast cancer, it is pulling on the heart string of many. I get that.

Here is the evidence....did the kid violate team rules? If so then should he be punished?(REGARDLESS of the color of the gloves)

On another note, shame on the family for calling the news media. We know that LEX18 and the Herald (Mis)Leader only sensationalizes to sell news stories. This is an in house issue and it should have been handled that way. Classless people only air dirty laundry.

does this kid go and visit cancer patients, just a friendly question and if so that should be support enough and no one even needs to know about it,donate what the cost of pink clothing and such to a cancer patient and I guarantee you will feel better about it if it is from the heart, believe me I know it works,a hug is even nice. is the pink gloves really support and if so please explain it to me.just a friendly question, say bad things to me if you feel like you need to because I wish words were the only hurt.

He probably wanted to bench this kid and was looking for an excuse to do it. This is how this jerk works...Once he had a reason, he could play his buddies kid who isn't as good. What could the parent's say then.....Why he deserved to be set down and then the kid who wasn't as good would have magically beat out the Oneil boy. That's how Corbin Football politics works! This time though it blew up in his FAT FACE! By the way Steve you should be worried about Breast Cancer with the set of JUGS your lugging around!

Look at the situation from all angles. Was the kid really wanting to support breast cancer or were they just doing it to push some buttons and stand out. If the coach says only red white and gray will be worn them that's the colors. No emblems on stuff either. Was the coach enforcing rules for all? Have these same kids been in trouble before? I know the answers and am not related to coach, don't have a kid in school and not even a former red hound. Folks it's a violation and the coach took care if it. Just same as kid who chews gum in class. They get detention. Hello!
