Due to numerous accidents on the Bypass it is closed right now. Have no idea of how long it will be closed. Heard it was 7 or 8 vehicles. Anyone know any additional info?

Suppose to be a semi-truck wreck. Do not know anymore than that. Was on the news, but no additional info. North bound lane.

Street in Corbin were untouched just a little while ago. Wrecks everywhere. Cops driving around with their lights on but too many wrecks to do anything. Wonder when they will start cleaning the roads. Has anyone seen anyone trying to treat the roads?

There was salt trucks out about an hour ago. Cumberland falls at speedway and exit 25 the salt was starting to melt the ice but there was a semi blocking the entire north bound on ramp, and the south bound on ramp looked untouched. :/ traffic was moving though, just slow.

Hard for the salt trucks to get through with so many wrecks and traffic stopped everywhere. They are out and trying to get it done.

Just exactly how would you have handled the situation? This type of weather has pretty much been going on all day somewhere in the state all day long. There have been wrecks everywhere all over Ky.With snow squalls coming every few minutes covering the roads and blowing winds the roads will continually refreeze if they were salted and melted in the first place.Weather like we have had today is one of the most dangerous types of weather to be driving in.Why? It is because people dont realize how slick it is until too late and they drive too fast for the conditions.Once they realize the roads are slick they panic and hit their brakes and end up in the ditch or worse.Other drivers then also have to react to mistakes and wrecks they come up on caused by other people that have already got into trouble. It is hard to keep roads clear when winds would blow the salt off and also if lanes are blocked due to wrecks preventing trucks from getting through.People need to slow down or better yet stay home in situations in times like this. There cannot be a salt truck on every road every hour of the day.I would much rather be driving in 3 or 4 inches of snow on the road than in the type weather we have had today. In those situations people usually have enough sense about them to slow down.It would actually be safer to do so.It is so easy to blame someone else when but there is little anyone could have done to make the roads safe under the present weather conditions.A lot of these accidents are being caused due to peoples inattention to the road conditions.
