I have lived in Corbin, KY for most of life, and have been a low income individual for all of the years that I have lived in Corbin. I have attempted to gain HELP from CUE on numerous occasions, and to date, CUE has never done nothing for me, and has never given reasons as too why I don't qualify.
For a community action agency, this one is awful. Who runs this place anyway?

All clients that are refused help----get a reason...maybe you didn't take all the info needed to them---or maybe you have lied about what you told them.

Im sure they must help some people and yes, they do give "reasonings" but Im like the first person..I just dont know who it is they help unless its the people who wouldnt do anything to help themselves! Im sorry, I really dont want to bash anyone but I just dont understand their reasonings some times. I have always worked and thankfully never needed their help up until a year ago and I got into a really bad situation and they turned me down because I was $100 over their supposed cut off line of income. So I took it in stride even though I was in such bad need, then in the last few months Ive lost my job and Im about to lose my home and I went to them again desperate with NO income at all to see if they would help me keep my electric on because I have children, and I was turned down again! This time the reason was because I had NO income It would only be a temporary fix and they felt it wouldnt help me out for the long run????? I mean, I thought that was what it was there for?? I just dont understand and I think they need to review their rules,it just doesnt seem fair. Im sure not everyone agrees with me but after all, thats why its a free country! I just know that whenever Ive needed help they have turned me down for reasonings that make no sense to me.

OH!and one more thing! From the way the income guidelines are based, it seems to me that you must be on like disability or some check to get help...I just dont think they help the average, poor working person..I think it must only be that group of ppl. Think about it you have to be under 700 bucks a month but yet if you have no income they wont help either??? how does that make sense???

From my dealings with CUE. It is the biggest joke in Corbin, and has to be ran by total idiots. I mean who comes up with the guidelines and who enforces the rules. Each and every time I have called them to gain any type of help, I have gotten the same run around, and mumbo jumbo answer, which in the end never really answers anything.
This is called an action agency, question is action agency for what? Mumbo jumbo answers, I guess??
