I know that it is a very sad situation and that RC was/is a great guy. It just shows that you must always be careful around your surroundings. An innocent party ruined a young mans life by causing him to do evil. I'm by no means condoning his actions because they were truly wrong but I hate that it was brought on because of someone slipping him something.
As for the athlete, I heard he was one of the toughest, meanest Redhounds out of many tough mean redhounds in the storied tradition.
You have no idea what you are talking about and he is not a good person. He deserved alot worse than he got.

At that time, we lived near he and his family. And though I was not at an age to remember him personally, it still saddens me deeply that something like that happened to him.
It made me more aware of the dangers of parties and clubs and things, though. I don't think ever in my life have I left a drink (alcoholic or non) to return to drink and never have I accepted an opened drink from someone.
I only hope that if something as tragic had to happen, that others have taken it to heart the way that I did and it made them more cautious and more aware of what they were doing and what they were taking/drinking.
Oh my god.... "what happened to him", are you kidding me. He was a mental case! What about the lifes he took and the family he ruined! You should remember his mother and his cousin who was only 16 when that sorry excuse for a person took his life. And what about his Aunt, she was stabbed 67 times and had to hold her dead son in her arms until the ems got there. Think about it. AND... he was not on anything when he commited this tragic crime... hints the reason he plead insanity at the trial...

He never went to a party so when was that suppose to have happened? He was at home with his mother and his cousin for about 4 days prior to December 3rd. I have a first hand account of the entire incident so I don't think I'm wrong. Don't make excuses for him.

NO my dear Renee, you're wrong,,,my husband dropped him off the night before he killed his family, at his mother's house,,they had been out partying for at least 3 days...and he was coming down off of a cocaine/heroin binge, and supposedly someone had slipped angel dust into a drink of his at a party....my husband said he'd gotten sick and wanted to go home, so he took and dropped him there...thank goodness my husband no longer does drugs and is now a good christian man.

He went to church with his mother and my grandmother that wednesday morning so I would have to say that your information is wrong. I have the court documents where he said that he hadn't taken PCP since high school. He did use cocaine while he went to the university but during the week leading up to the incident he was not taking anything (court documented drug screening). My grandmother was there... he almost killed her... I think she would know! That party rumor is the biggest lie, I have no idea where it came from. She is working on her story right now and it will be published by the fall of next year, then finally maybe we can lay all of these ridiculous rumors to rest and show some respect to a brave woman who lost her sons life and almost her own.

Sweetie I'm sorry for what happened to your family. I just wanted you to know I went to high school with RC and he was a good person then. He was at my apartment 2 days before all this happened,While sitting in my living room looking through our high school yearbooks and reminising he all of a sudden slammed the yearbook shut and said I'll kill them for what they have done to me. Well I got real scared and made the excuse I needed to go to bed and he left. The next night he knocked on my door and when I seen it was him and I was alone with my 1 year old son I didn't open the door. After about 10 minutes of knocking on my door and windows he left. The next day was when I heard what he had done. I'm so glad I didn't open my door that night and I thank God everyday that I had the sick feeling inside that made me not open it.He was a kind hearted person before he WAS slipped something at a party. That incident happened before he went on a killing spree. The slipping him something happened months before he killed anyone, but it messed him up really bad. I like to remember the good ole days thats the RC I want to remember, Not the one that drugs helped to make. It's sad to think that someone slipping a person drugs could later mess up so many peoples lives. If you are ever at a party don't drink anything that has been out of you sight and don't do drugs.

She can write the book but she will not know the truth either. He was doing drugs and he saved his own butt by saying he was insane. I know of a lot of people that knew he was still doing drugs maybe not the day they did the drug test. There is a lot of people that used PCP that had flash backs and would just get it in their heads that people was out to get them. http://www.ohsinc.com/how_long_do_drugs_stay_...

Corbin -Middlesboro ... 1976

Hounds and Jackets were the top two teams in the state. The winner takes the district; the loser goes home. The place was packed at M'Boro. Corbin kicks a field goal for a 10-9 win. Angry Jacket hoodlums came over to where my friend and I were celebrating and starting threatening to do us harm. RC came over to assist us and the gang of hoods scattered. RC was one of the most intimidating presences on the football field that I ever saw.

Does anybody remember this guy from Corbin? He is writing a book about R.C. Thomas.

Today, Reeves lives outside of Houston with his wife Stacy and two daughters, Keegan and Kayleigh. Reeves played varsity football and baseball at Corbin High School, but he said most people will remember him as “Hogman,” a nickname he earned from his coach after transferring in from Arkansas, known for the Razerbacks.

Reeves said he is already working on his next book,“Snap,” a fictionalized account based on the murder case of R.C.“Junior” Thomas, a Corbin graduate and football player who allegedly stabbed and killed three members of his family during a PCP flashback in the 1970s.

“I had dinner with Junior the night that he killed his mother, his aunt and his niece,” Reeves said.

Any parent... I mean any parent that would name their little boy "Riddle" is setting him up for a life of ridicule and possibly living out life as a mass murderer. Plz... Riddle..... and Cornelius? RC is living his life as destined at birth. He could never accept himself as "Riddle," yet that is exactly what he became.

Parents, watch what you name your children. You think these little names are so cute and different. You are not thinking about lifelong embarrassment, insecurity, and low self-esteem... and yes, possible murder or suicidal tendencies.

This blog by Steve Reeves is an time lined account of the murderers and the actions following the murderers. He has interviewed persons that would have first hand knowledge of the events, and he has researched and located many of the public records from the event.
BTW, no one was stabbed 67 times during this crime. There were not 67 stab wounds shared between the victims. Charlotte was struck with the knife twice... Bleah, I will just let you read the entire account for yourself.

Gee, do u think it could have been all the steroids that Corbin pumped him full of...I mean, like that would not cause a psychotic break at all...why is that never considered? Since this kind of thing has been known to happen with steroids...consider the professional wrestler who killed, wife, son, and himself....and there is several more examples. He sure did not come by these steroids without help..
