So I got a letter from Forcht bank saying I have to keep $500 in my checking account. I work at a Forcht nursing home as a CNA and they force me to direct deposit in Forcht bank. My check is usually around $450-$480. I live paycheck to paycheck. How am I supposed to keep $500 in my account? Is this legal? How does this man call himself a Christian?

It may be the type of checking you have. I know with most banks there is free checking and then checking account types with more perks, call them and ask if they offer a free checking.

I had already called to try to clear it up because I thought I had misunderstood but the lady said that all checking accounts have to keep $500 in them. I would simply switch banks but Terry Forcht requires us all to direct deposit into his bank. I guess I will look for a new job. Why would he do his employees this way?

I also work at a Forcht Nursing home and have to direct deposit. I haven't received any letter like that. I don't see how they can force you to do that, it's your money. I don't have to keep any money in my checking account.

Well I am in trouble then cause I only have $1.70 in my account and I have one at Forcht Bank. I think you need to go over there and just straighten it up.

You haven't received a letter? I already talked to them over there and they said it was true.

I got the letter too, and well, considering I have been laid off, and can barely put food on my families table, I'm gonna be changing banks!!

I really think you can use any bank you wish to use. The payroll just says you have to have direct deposit. They do not and can not force you to use Forcht Bank, but they can force you to use direct deposit. Change banks and give your payroll a voided deposit slip for the number of the new account and they must deposit your payroll there.

Yes, you are required to have Direct Deposit and it HAS to be at FORCHT BANK, no exceptions. I would have my check deposited and then turn right around and have to write a check to deposit into our joint checking acct at another bank to pay our bills. There are several things Forcht employee are required to do that would seem questionable......

He's a republican, what do you expect? They prey off the poor and helpless. If Congressman Ryan's Republican Budget proposal that just PASSED the House of Representatives doesn't prove that to you... then nothing will. It's a shame really.

Your post has nothing to do with this topic. Congressman Ryan proposed a bill that still does not balance anything for 20 plus years. Read the report from the debt commission the president reported. We are broke, that includes Medicaid, Medicare, Defense, and Social Security. The budget just passed (Till 1-October of this year) had to be supplemented by the Chinese.

Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, Defense are 85%-90% of the budget. We are simply broke, their has to be changes or there will be nothing in 10 years. Get it thru your head, the government is broke and we can only spend what we take in. There is another answer, raise tax's on everyone another 20%, that will balance the budget.....

what a russsh
