vetinarian in corbin
blank check

London, KY

#1 Apr 12, 2012
Stupid woman on facebook took a stray into a vet in corbin gave them a blank check to take care of the dog. Now she seems to feel entitled to her money back. So I guess she values the dog more then the people who took care of it for her she thinks they should work for free. Wake up Doc keep the money you earned it. Who is so dumb to give anyone a blank check. And the amount they charged her was way generous.

If your my friend on Facebook and were informed, you would know that due to serious illness in my immediate family I could not stay with the puppy. However I left strict instructions for them to call me after initial exam. I told them not once but three times in person to call me. After two hours passed I called them and told them again not to let him due anything until he called me, she said don't worry we've been busy and he's not even looked at her yet. After leaving the dr office in Lexington I called again to check on the puppy. I was then informed that they had performed X-rays gave her an injection and the bill was 168 dollars. My family member who is ill has not worked in over a year, that money could have benefited them. The issue is not about them giving my money back it is about the respect of consulting with me before assuming I want to spend that on treatment of a stray. Furthermore the little old lady at the desk said I think it has a cold and guess what the vet diagnosed it with..,a respiratory infection aka a cold. Bottom line someone should have kept me informed. I could have done what everyone recommended which would have been to stop payment on the check. I didn't do this because I don't know if the vet even knew I left these instructions. I didn't feel this was fair to the dr if the woman at the desk didn't tell him.
To recap
1. I'm stupid for thinking everyone is as honest as I am
2. This situation was unethical because they knew it was a stray and a staff member even tried to call and find it a home for me.
3. Know matter what is going in your personal life never entrust a blank check to anyone even a professional
4.Does anybody want this pup that squeals like a monkey
5. If your a CHRISTian please pray for my sick family member

I am sorry for your sick family member but I think the vet. charged you a very reasonable amount considering what they did. I wouldn't have given them payment before the service however. That way, they would be sure to call you before they did something.

When you left the blank check that along sent the message money was not a concern for you and the fact that you were willing to do this for a dog that wasn't yours. and now you are angry over what they charged so you are on public boards talking them down. I'm sorry but I see the vet more as a victim here then you. as far as being friends go sometimes it is hard to tell a friend you disagree with them.

Well considering that I told them 4 times to call before they did anything I would say that I expected to be asked if I wanted the puppy treated or not? Common sense would tell you that if someone requests a phone call they would like the courtesy of a phone call. The fact of the matter is it was my decision to make and I stupidly thought that as professionals they would call me to get it okayed....you live and learn ....honesty should not be expected nowadays...

From what I know about the Corbin Animal Clinic I am shocked this happened. Leaving a blank check isn't a common practice however a follow up phone call would have been nice. I am sure the Dr's were looking out for your puppy's best interest.

I am sorry that it unfolded in this manner however you are a good person for taking care of an innocent puppy! Kudos to you...

Yes, the most important thing is that the puppy is okay and has someone who cared about it.
