Why does the majority of shoppers that go to Kmart feel like the cashiers are to blame for items that ring up wrong? I can certainly say that if you have worked with the public you just smile and go on. I have been to Kmart on more than 1 occassion and had to wait while the cashiers get a price check. These ladies do their best to get you the correct price and get you out the door in a timely manner. I have been there when Cindy and Rhonda are working and they both smile, greet you and help you in any way possible. I take my hat off to these girls and I appreciate all they do. Customers take out their frustrations on them when they are not to blame. Next time you have to wait in line at Kmart try and remember that if you were in their shoes would you be as nice as they are? When they greet you try and smile and when you leave THANK them, kindness works wonders.

It's not the cashiers fault BUT that has to be one of the most frustrating stores to shop in. They always have the prices wrong, so everyone has to stand in line and wait. I hate that, that is one of my pet peeves with K-Mart. They never have enough people on the registers, and nothing is ever marked or not marked right!! AND THEY ARE SOOOOOOOOOO SLOWWWWWWWWW

That is when you ask to speak with a manager. Take the extra step so that management knows that there is a problem.

Shopper by day, I hear you but one day I went in there and the line was almost to the back of the store and they had one little old middle aged lady checking everyone out. This lady was so slow and stopped to look at every item she scanned. If you had cash, you could move through the line--a little at a time--but she seemed not to be able to do check transaction to save her life. She would have them initial in 2 or 3 places, all over the check that they just endorsed, it was RIDICULOUS. Although none of the other cashiers have ever done me that way and I do believe they have her doing something else now which is good.

I refuse to shop at kmart.

The last time I shopped there, I had to wait in line for practically 45 minutes. Only one check out lane was open for the customers to pay for their items. PLUS, I seen MANY workers standing around doing nothing at the time. Why not do your job and open up another lane when you see that the one lane that is open is THAT backed up?

ALSO, my husband purchased a ring for me there around Christmas. The only size they carry in rings is a size 7. He, being like most men, was not aware of what size ring I actually wore. So, the lady working at the jewelry counter informed him that as long as he kept the receipt, I could come back in with the ring and they would replace it with my correct size after sending it off. They told him they do not "resize" rings anymore, but, they will order the correct size and get it back to me within 7-14 business days.

SOOOOO I went in there just the other day to make the necessary adjustments so that I did not have to wear the ring on my thumb any longer. I had the receipt and asked the lady if she could please send off for my new ring with the correct size. She, then, informed me that it was not possible for her to do that & that I should go to a jewelry store and pay for them to send off to get the ring sized for me. I told her what the lady informed my husband when he purchased the ring and she denied that they could do that. She told me that the ring would have to be sent off for the correct size & THEN he could purchase the ring when the correct size arrived. I told her that was absurd & that I wanted the ring resized. After speaking with a manager, I am still having to take the ring to the jewelry store.

It's a pathetic waste of space & I don't see how they can stay in business.

I worked at Kmart I was a jewerly manager there not in Corbin. But you can take the ring back and they can order the size you need and you take that ring back in an exchange it for the right size. They do not send the rings in for resize they just order the right size on the phone and when it comes in they give you that ring. I would go to the Kmart in London if you can get there. Or call 1 866 kmart4U. call this number ask to speak to supervisor. They can get you the help you need.

They may have refused to help you because it has been 6 months since you got the ring and are just now getting a new size. Also, if you have been wearing it they cannot resale it. I got a ring there during the Thanksgiving sale and they ordered the correct size and exchanged for me. Of course that was done within a few days after purchase.

Most of these problems are not a result of the workers there. Kmart, Sears Holdings Inc., is a failing company. Due to this, ALL Kmarts have a very low budget causing the stores to not have enough money to hire enough workers to accomplish all that the store needs. Most of the problems start at the top with higher management, causing a lack of organization and training. Therefor, it is wrong to get very upset at the lower level employees who do not have it in their power to make the changes customers want to see.

The reason Kmart has such long lines is because there are some good deals to be had there. I heard a lot of stores and fast food places have a hard time keeping employees because the growing drug problems. Anywhere you find good deals you can find long lines. Also,Kmart has a lot of shoppers that has price checks. I think that is because one day something is on sale and next day it isn't. They have to many sneak sales but isn't that a good thing. I got a eleven dollar man's cap for 99 cents.

Again, most of these problems are a result of the company in general. If there was organization and enough budget money, then those working jobs such as jewelry would be trained in that area and know that Kmart does NOT send off rings to be sized. It is not the employees direct fault. Management does not do proper training, but rather throws individuals into the store and expect them to know what to do. Then, when a problem arises, the customer blames to employee and complains to management. It's a pretty big internal problem, starting at the top.

There was a nice girl who worked there on the return counter about a year ago. She was very nice and worked fast. I think that her name was Sephany or something like that. She was tall and somewhat over weight, but was super friendly. If was wasn't working on returning someone for someone she always offered to check out if the line was backed up to help out. Last time I saw her she said that she was not working there because after having her galbladder out they refused to put her on the schedual for over four months. Whats up with that? They get a nice worker and choose to put slow and untrained people in her spot.

Lay away workers, god bless them, I would amagine what when you walk about in the room that they store customers stuff it must be a mess. When they get a ticket to get someones order out they are back there forever and usually bring out someone elses stuff with it or not everything you should have. They need help!

Who hasn't been to Walmart and waited in line? Who hasn't been to any big store, at one time or another and had to stand in line? I am just saying this kind of stuff happens. I have gotten merchandise from stores that was damaged and luckily they took it back. All stores have a few problems. I hear Kmart is hiring now. This maybe the reason everything is slow.
