My mom is currently looking for a pain mgmt doctor. She goes to one in London, but it's amazing of how long she waits. I thought 3 hours was bad. But last week she went and waited 9 hours just to see the doctor. It was awful! She got hurt years back and she's on pain medication No, she's not a dope head..but of course she needs a good doctor that will line her out. She's been in so much pain lately. And I really hate to see her wait that long. So anyone with suggestions please comment.

I would suggest trying Dr. May at Moonbow Plaza.
3 hours is an awful long wait to have to sit in waiting room chairs while you are in severe pain, let alone 9 hrs! I can't imagine......Hope this helps

yes it is. The people that go there have chronic pain and I don't see it being easy on anyone to wait 9 hours

if you want a good doctor who actually cares and will treat you as a human instead of just seeing dollar signs you need to see richard lingreen. hes in frankfort now but trust me he is worth the 2 hour drive. my dads been seeing him for almost 7 years now. im pretty sure i know were you have to wait for so long at. if its the place im thinking then thats why lingreen left to open his own office.

In my opinion, Dr. May is a great doctor. He has always been very kind & always answers any questions that I have about my condition as honestly and as completely as possible. He does prescribe narcotics, but he tries to limit them to as few as possible to control the pain so that you will not have any problems with addiction.
I have heard that he does treat people with addictions as well.
I believe it took me about a month to be able to get into see him for the first time, but my doctor had to refer me.
I do not recall what the price of the initial appointment was, but for each appointment after has cost $125 because he does not take any form of insurance as of January of last year.
I usually have no wait at all when I go for my appointment, 10-15 minutes at MOST.
Good luck

Be prepared to see a Great Dane in there. I went in one day and that thing scared me to death. It's like a pony. I don't know if its there all the time, but be prepared.

The Great Dane has been there every time that I have had an appointment. The dog is very calm & friendly though, even though it is huge in size. I think he is beautiful and would take him home in a heart beat if I thought I could afford the food!!lol

Don't know much about the area you live in but there are "Pain Management Clinics" in most places these days. They are very efficient and the normal wait is about 15 minutes. My mother has degenerative arthritis and a brain aneurysm and other conditions that come with age. They have treated her pain very efficiently and effectively. I hope this helps.
