What are some of the most infamous murders that have occurred in and around the Corbin area over the years?
Ms Inman- lived on Master Street. Was stabbed numerous times back in the late sixties. Murder was never solved.

RC Thomas- Corbin football star stabbed his mother and a another relative to death after experiencing side effects from drug intake.

Chet Maggard- Corbin radio announcer shot the husband of the woman he was having an affair with on downtown Corbin in the late eighties.

Toni and Chris Hart's dad- shot dead as he was leaving his house. Rumored to possibly be linked to an affair.

Larry Wilson- owner of a towing service, shot and killed Tod Carter at the Root Beer Stand earlier this year. Wilson was screwing Carter's wife, who worked at the greasy
spoon eatery.

Any others that made big news over the years?

The news was talking about that Witt lady in conection to the deaths at the VA hosp. and compaired her to the early 1970 murders at Mary Mount in London and a hosp in Ohio. I can't think of that guys name but they said that he killed many people (almost 60) over the years, starting in London at the age of 18. They said that he is one of America's most famous.

Yeah, I think that there was a thread about him a while back with a link to a web site that tells the known facts about all of what went on.

Mac Halcombe I believe the name was. In the seventies he and his daughter were murdered between woodbine and corbin. I think there were four people that did this. I heard he worked for the phone company and was a nice person.

Yes, I believe there were ponds there. Just outside of corbin going towards woodbine on the right. Not positive about how far out, not far though.

Back in the 70's I think, a policeman shot a man in the cell at the jail. it was about 2:00 a.m. & policeman was cleaning gun it went off and shot the man in the head. went to trail policeman found not guilty, said it was just an accident. I think name was Oda Hash jr.(not sure of 1st name but something like that. Since no one talks about this it sounds like something to check out. How about murders or deaths from the 30's and 40's.

The Hash man was not in a cell or even arrested. He lived in a nearby apt. and came in to use the vending machines. All the officers knew and liked him and would never have harmed him. It was a too casual of a setting then. The poorly trained officer, now deceased, had cleaned his revolver and was reloading it when it discharged striking Hash. Nothing more than an terrible unfortunate tragedy. The case went to trial as a wrongeful death suit. The officer and the city were both found negligent and paid. The man, somewhat retarded I think, had an uncle who pushed the suit with a lazy incompetent lawyer and the damages paid out was only around 6 or 7 thousand for hospital and funeral expenses. So.....No conspiracy here.
