This is nothing more than Corbin Officials finally realizing that the Arena was a horrible decision and attempting to pass blame on someone else. David Williams doesn't have anything to do with how rarely used and unprofitable the facility is BUT CORBIN OFFICIALS DO!

I mean really, who was the moron that actually thought an "Arena" in such a small area would really be a good idea. It's almost as if the City Council got together and said "Lets build the most expensive thing Corbin has ever seen and put it up on the highest mountain around so that its never used... and then lets build a traffic light for it that will run everyday even though it will actually only be needed once every six months." WHO IS RUNNING THIS TOWN - THE THREE STOOGES?

Grow up!!

Some people don't appreciate anything that goes on in this town. Maybe you ought to go somewhere else.

Those new sidewalks are a joke. Once again Corbin officials do something that makes no sense. They can't fix the roads that everyone travels on every day but instead fix sidewalks that no one uses outside of Nibroc.

I'm so sick of this nonsense.

The state is doing Main and Ky Streets. If you read the paper you will know it will be finished in the Spring. No blacktopping in cold weather.

Yes I know that, but how many years has it taken? Six? Maybe ten years? And why is it that the state had to do it? I know the road are technically state roads but blacktopping doesn't cost that much... why couldn't Corbin pay for it with all the new alcohol funds its getting that it likes to brag about. One month of alcohol taxes would have payed to re-blacktop all of Corbin! But I guess that's how everything works around here, from people on well fair to the city waiting for the state to do something. No one can provide for themselves and have to reply on someone else!

It's the same all over. Nobody appreciates anything and they're usually the same people who never do anything but complain and never do anything to help anyone. The Arena was built to be a Regional Arena and I think it's a Great addition for the entire area. Most of these people are complaining because wherever they live has nothing even close to this project. I guess they could've built yet another water park, which are very nice but the Arena is available for events year round. I applaud the past and current City councils and commissions in all area towns including Corbin who at least try to do something to help the entire area whether it's W'Burg, London, Barbourville or Corbin. At least these leaders try to help the area citizens and at least make an effort to help others.

Apparently you're either blind or a moron. The Arena has only had three events this whole year? So what the F are you talking about? Great addition for the entire area my ass!

This has to be someone related to City Council because I haven't met one single person that thinks the arena is good at all. It doesn't offer any jobs, it doesn't offer any events - the only thing it brought to this town was a mountain of debt.(FUNNY HOW IT ACTUALLY SITS ON A MOUNTAIN) Even Corbin officials have admitted it was a mistake - they've openly admitted that they don't have the fund to pay for it!

Who were the Corbin officials that said The Tech Center, Arena projects were a mistake ? Where did they make these comments? Who were they talking to ?When did they make these comments? I know for sure No Corbin officials have made these statements in a public meeting ! In fact the project bagan with a swamp and has evolved into a multi business , multi building entertainment area with a restaurant, a movie theatre complex, a medical office not to mention an educational building and The Arena. All of these are seeing very good business use and The Arena is now financially independent . With increased tourism, restaurant and now alchohol taxes there is a multi million dollar complex where there once was an abandoned swamp and barn. Perhaps you detractors will never understand how this can occur, but it has occurred. It doesn't matter if you like it or understand it. Those that have this kind of foresight and knowlege do understand . And thankfully we have a few of these leaaders in our area. The fact is that many thousands of area citizens are able to enjoy their efforts . Even the doubting complaining do nothings such as yourself are able to enjoy the efforts of others. Of coarse there is nothing new to you in that approach is there ?
