MY Mom was in Corbin Nursing Home. They done all right with her. Always go at different times to see them.Never set a pattern, that way you can see how they are really taking of them.

My mother was at the Corbin Nursing Home and treated pretty bad. Always had bruises, not cleaned most of the time. Her stuff got taken from her room that I always took her. Her clothes messed up that I bought. The Ones taking care of the little old people do not take pride in their work, they are only there for a pay check. You just have to go yourself and check the places out. Talk to the ones that have their loved ones there.

No matter if someone says something good about a nursing home, there will be just as many people saying something bad about the same one. None of them will leave you satisfied.

Christain Health Center is the best in Corbin. Things do go on a nursing homes but my family was highly satisfied with this one. Our loved one spent some time at Corbin Nursing Home and it was not a pleasant experience.

I recommend Laurel Heights in London, it may be further away than the others but I promise you that you do not want to go to any of the nursing homes in corbin. I know for a fact that all of them take horrible care of their patients.

All of the nursing homes in Corbin have a waiting list, except Hillcrest. My mother was there and it was horrible. That is why they don't have a waiting list.

I worked at Corbin Nursing Home its a fine place I loved working there. I enjoyed the people and spent alot of quality time with the people when time permitted. I never once seen a Resident of Corbin Nursing Home with any bruises and never anyone neglected. I'm sure I didnt see everything but I put my heart, blood, sweat and tears into that job when I worked there. Its not a bad place there are activities for the residents and meal time and church etc...

In my opinion, If You noticed that stuff going on, like her not being clean, Then why didn't YOU come in and give her a good bath? Don't even say you shouldn't have to, it's there job, cause if it was my Mother there, that wasn't getting bathed the way I liked it, I would just do that part myself! How dare you say they don't take pride in there work, Do you even know how many patients they have to feed, bath, turn, change, dress, & take to the restroom? Sounds like you don't take pride in taken care of your own Mother! I would be more worried if she had bedsores, dehydration, or even malnourised.

to put a 'loved one' into a nursing home must be a horrible decision to make. I hope I'm never faced with it. After working in a nursing home years ago, I swore (and still do) that I would never put any one of my parents in one, but if it was 100 percent unavoidable, I would have to agree with OHMY's point . . . just because they are in there does not mean you should just drop out. If you trully love the person, you will still take part in caring for them . . . point blank

You are not aloud in the cleaning area where they bath them, trust me I tried. That is the hardest thing a person has ever done to put your loved one in a place like that.I loved and still love my mother beyond words,no one can say or has the right to say I didnt try or that I never done my best for her.I so wish I could have taken care of her at my own home,I know I could have done a hell of alot better than she was done at that place.I will and I do say the girls that was there when my blessed mother was there was only there for a paycheck,They did not take pride in their work sorry if I hit a nerve but I know what went on and what they all done.I raised a stink just about every time I went out there.I went different days and times just to catch them, but already done by the time I was there.I feed my mother when I was aloud to do so that was limited as well.Dont know when you worked and how they done then but I know how things were done when my mother was there and I so wished I would have proceeded with my findings and other stuff, but really what good would it have done,my mother passed away and now in the arms of Jesus.I never have to worry any more about how she is been taken care of because she has a perfect body,no pain or sorry and walking on streets of gold.Want to know what played a part in her death,Staph infection so wonder what that was from.My mother wasnt the only resident that was not taken care of I can give you names as well if you like But I am sure you get the picture.

There are other options besides a nursing home. Such as a day health facility. Depending on your schedule. I know of a great day health facility in Corbin that is opened from 7am until 7 at night. They provide showers, meals, activites and even therapy for your loved ones. And if you qualify your loved ones will even be transported to and from the center. Its a great social experience also for them. Than by evening you can enjoy having your loved one at home with you, without having to worry about thier care. I also know from personal experience that they have a very professional staff and very caring!

If it's possible and you can afford it have some one to come into her home and take care of her that's a better way .

I know it doesn't matter but those girls in the nursing homes are overworked and underpaid. While Terry Forcht sits back and makes millions by taking everything those old people own but then won't hire enough girls to give the residents the care they need. I don't care who you are, it is damn hard to take care of 12-15 people on your own. Some of the girls work their guts out and take good care of the residents but there will be bad apples in every work environment including healthcare. But that's ok, one day Terry Forcht will pay for his sins. He is making millions of those people. His nursing homes are money rackets.

That being said, Christian Health Center is non profit. Put your family members in a non profit home if you don't want to be making some greedy scum bag rich.

If your someone thats that concerned with someones care why dont you hire a private sitter to sit at the nursing home I've worked with private sitters there its no big deal I'm sure you have to pay but if it means that much to you you'll spend it and if your not working maybe you should try taking the loved one home theres several options besides dogging the CNA's thats a hard job and its nothing to do with the paycheck. I worked there even while I was pregnant and it wasnt for the money my husband made plenty to support our family I was attached to those people. Even after the Doctor took me off work I went to the hospital on my own time to visit a resident I had grown attached too she was a very fine lady I miss her so much.

Just adding my 2cents worth... Why dont you check the statistics of Staph at CNH and BRMC almost every time a resident left the nursing home to go to the hospital for a visit (over-night) they would regularly come back to the nursing home with Staph. Theres nothing that can be done to prevent what they get while at the hospital except for the hospital so maybe u should kick on them I seen a lady leave CNH for a heart cath that was healthy for the most part and came back to us with Staph which killed her shortly after I'm thinking a week or two but theres nothing the nursing home could have done to prevent what the hospital caused.

You know we can go on and on but what good is it gonna do.I know How my mother was treated while there and I know who it was that took care of her that treated her that way and yes they did mistreat her and no one is gonna tell me any different. When it all was brought to my attention about the ones doing it to her I had the girls removed from her and it was stopped. So this is all I am gonna answer to my advice to the lady or gentleman whom is having to choose a nursing home just go and check for yourself.Ask the ones that are there and I mean the relatives of the residents that are there then you will have your answers.Do not go to just one try them all and take a notebook where you have all your questions wrote down that you want to ask.You guys have a nice day and this is it for me on this subject. My blessed mother is in heaven now and I know she is happy. She worked very hard to get to where she is.I will one day be with her again.Thank you guys for the ones that did a great job and took care of her and to the others ones you will get paid back one day I am sure.Oh yes and by the way my mom never went to the hospital for anything and came back to the nursing home.I have a picture where she had an inch slice down her forearm where someone got ahold of her she got staph. She also was sitting right in front of nurses station just shows you how good they are watched even in front of nurses.
